📋 About This Mod
Real nights, a living sky, and a sun that actually sets.
Celestial Cycle
In vanilla Planet Crafter the day almost never ends. Celestial Cycle turns it into a real, repeating rhythm — one that lingers at full day and full night — and finally makes the sky above your planet more dynamic. Real darkness, a sun that rises and sets, and planets and moons placed where they'd actually be, drifting overhead as the hours pass.
A real day/night cycle
• The cycle loops continuously, dwelling at full daylight and full darkness instead of holding a near-endless day.
• Set how long a full 24-hour day takes, in real minutes.
• Tune how long the world lingers at full day and at full night.
• Sleeping still advances to morning, just like vanilla.
Nights that are actually dark
• Full night can be taken all the way down toward pitch black — so your flashlight is more than just for wrecks.
• Fully adjustable, from a gentle dusk to a can't-see-your-hand night.
• Only the night end of the cycle is touched; daytime is left exactly as the game intends.
A visible, rising and setting sun
• Adds a real sun disc at the light's source that rises and sets with the day — vanilla never gives you one.
• Push its brightness past the bloom threshold for a blinding, white-hot glare, or keep it soft.
• Size and color tuning included.
A living sky
• The planets and moons overhead now travel across the sky as the day passes, instead of hanging frozen.
• Choose how the sky moves: rotate as one, each body on its own orbit, or hold it still.
• Axis tilt and orientation controls shape the arc the sky sweeps through.
Real positions and sizes
• Every planet and moon is placed at its true bearing and distance as seen from the world you're standing on — moons cluster near their parent planet, distant worlds sit far off and low on the horizon.
• Distant planets shrink toward star-like points; nearby moons loom large and close. Configurable if you prefer them large.
• It all recomputes per planet, so no two worlds share the same sky.
• At night the bodies cast faint colored light across the terrain.
An on-screen clock
• A small clock keeps time with the cycle.
• Place it anywhere on screen and size it to taste; 12-hour or 24-hour; toggle it with a hotkey.
• Only appears while you're actually in-game and in control — hidden during loading and menus.
Good to know
• Standalone. No dependencies and no other mods required.
• Every feature is configurable in the .cfg, and the whole mod has a single master on/off switch.
• Because placement is true-to-life, some bodies will sit below the horizon at times — that's intentional, and different from vanilla always showing every body at once.
Requirements
• BepInEx 5. 4. 23. 4
Installation
• Install BepInEx 5. 4. 23. 4.
• Drop the Celestial Cycle folder into BepInEx\plugins.
• Launch the game once, then open the generated file in BepInEx\config to tune anything to your liking.
Bug reports and screenshots of your own skies are always welcome.
