Advanced Compass

Advanced Compass expands the vanilla compass system by adding a new upgrade chip that turns your compass into a powerful navigation tool.

Once equipped, the new Compass T2 Microchip allows the compass to display nearby points of interest directly on the HUD, helping you locate valuable resources and hidden loot without constantly opening map screens.

To make the recipe appear in the crafting list, you need to save the game and load it again.

  What the menu looks like. To access the menu, you need to equip Microchip - Compass T2 and press "N".

  Tracked Object

  When an item is placed in the scanner slot, it begins to be tracked on the compass HUD. Once placed, the item is locked in the slot and cannot be returned to your inventory. To clear the scanner slot, you must press the clear button located to the right; doing so destroys the item currently in the slot. You might need to clear the slot if you no longer wish to track the item or if you need to track a different one. This mechanic is intentional, as the feature is already extremely overpowered.

  To the right of the scanner slot and the clear button, there are two checkboxes that allow you to filter items based on their location: on the ground or in a chest.

  On the compass HUD, the tracked item appears differently depending on its location: on the ground or in a chest. The image below shows that the item on the left is on the ground (standard icon), while the item on the right is in a chest (standard icon plus a marker).

  Additionally, the icons for ore deposit markers and toxic zones now feature an outline. Ore deposit markers will now look visually distinct from the markers for tracked items—specifically when the item being tracked is an ore. For example, if you are tracking Aluminum (with it loaded in your scanner slot), you will be able to distinguish the marker for a piece of loose ore on the ground from the marker for the deposit itself as you approach it.
