Girl Scout Voice Pack

Description

This is a standalone (non-replacer) voice pack created via the method outlined on the Owlcat GitHub modding wiki. It is based on the Female Scout Soundpack for TF2, made around 2012 by Sandra Espinoza, AKA DustyOldRoses.

The voice contained within is shouty, sharp-tongued, and oh-so-very-Bostonian. I made it for a tabletop character of mine that I was using as a Kingmaker PC, a character who I had always voiced with a terrible Boston accent of my own. The lines have been slightly pitch-shifted upwards, again to match the PC, who was a gnome.

I realize that this is extremely specific to my use case and probably not gonna be useful for a ton of people, but I figured I'd share it anyway. If you want a Baroness who sounds like an angry, vindictive ankle-biter from the heart of Massachusetts, this is the voice mod for you!

The voice will have a decent bit more variation to its lines than those of the companions; in particular, she has a lot of crit lines and attack order lines, and just generally has a lot to say.

This was my first time messing with Wwise and such heavy-duty audio editing programs, so quality and in-game performance might vary slightly. I believe I've gotten it into a good spot after some testing, but there are a few issues like distance fall-off I haven't quite nipped in the bud yet. Still, I believe the voice is more than serviceable for a full playthrough.

Installation instructions

I've been informed that this is the first (publicly released) Kingmaker voice pack made to be standalone and not a replacer. As such, the installation method is slightly different, but also much simpler. 

Unlike most voice mods where you have to replace an existing .bnk file in the game's files, all you need to do with this mod is take the downloaded .zip folder and drag it into your UnityModManager setup for Kingmaker.

Once installed, the voice will be listed in the list of feminine voices available to be chosen for your character, listed under the "None" voice. You'll have to scroll down a bit to see it as an option.

Requirements

You will need UnityModManager to be able to install the voice pack.

MASSIVE shout out to DarthParametric, without whom this would never have been possible to make. I had absolutely zero experience with modding Owlcat games or messing with any of the tools required to do so, and with his help both in the wiki's step-by-step guide as well as the consistent realtime aid in the Owlcat Discord server, I was able to crank this out in a bit over a week of off-and-on work.

Owlcat Discord members ADDB, Sternab, and CascadingDragon were also of huge help in giving me direction and helping me understand various parts of what I was looking at and learning to do. They took time out of their day to help me make my silly little project and I am hugely appreciative of it.

Of course huge thanks to everyone who helped put the voicebank templates together, everyone who pioneered Owlcat modding in the first place, and Owlcat for making a game I enjoy enough to learn how to do this.

Character art in the preview image is a commission of my D&D 5e Gnome Sorcerer/Warlock, Ezri Flickerwick, who this voice pack was made for. The art piece was done by the amazingly talented n8dl3art, who I have been getting to draw my characters for years now. Give her work a look; she is hugely underappreciated and is a phenomenal artist.
