DESCRIPTION:

NOW WORKING IN MULTIPLAYER!

This mod adds equippable weapon-slot items that let the PLAYER CHARACTER cast

Pal skills (Waza) directly, the same way an NPC or a Pal can -- full cast

animation, correct effect, cooldown. Over 100 common Pal skills are

included as individual items, each triggered by equipping it and pulling the

trigger/attack input like any other weapon.

While equipped, the item shows no visible weapon model -- your character

appears completely unarmed (bare fists) right up until you attack, at which

point the real skill-cast animation and effect take over.

Damage scales with YOUR OWN character stats (specifically points invested in

Attack), the same way it does for Pals and NPCs casting the same skill. The

item's own listed Attack Value has no bearing on skill damage -- invest in

your Attack stat if you want these to hit harder.

You must install PalSchema (0. 6. 4 or latest) and the experimental fork version

of UE4SS with Lua scripting enabled to use this mod. See INSTALLATION below.

Skill items can be found at the in-game merchant included with this mod

or "via admin command, StaticItemId listed in items.jsonc"].

They can also be added to any merchant of your choosing using the StaticItemId

values listed in items.jsonc.

To use a skill:

1) Equip the desired skill item to a weapon slot like any other weapon.

2) Your character will appear unarmed while it's equipped -- this is normal.

3) Aim and pull the trigger/attack input to cast the skill.

4) Wait out the skill's cooldown before casting again.

Note1: the equipped item's hotbar icon will NOT show a visible cooldown timer

or swirl. The cooldown IS enforced correctly behind the scenes -- this is a

display-only limitation (these items fall into a UI category the base game's

cooldown-gauge widget doesn't render for), not a bug in the cooldown itself.

Note2: Skills behave differently whether you are targeting an enemy or free casting.

If a skill appears as if it does nothing while free casting, target a damageable object

for it's full effect.

Note3: It is possible to add news skills and custom skills for the player using this mod's system

INSTALLATION:

This is a Lua Script-PalSchema-Pak combo mod and requires proper placement, same as any

other PalSchema mod.

First, install PalSchema and UE4SS (with Lua/experimental scripting support

enabled), using instructions from here:

This mod has two parts that both need to be installed:

1) PalSchema data (items.jsonc, translations.jsonc, merchantWares.jsonc, and

the compiled weapon Blueprint .pak) go into:

  STEAM:

steamapps\common\Palworld\Pal\Binaries\Win64\ue4ss\Mods\PalSchema\mods\

  GAMEPASS:

XboxGames\Palworld\Content\Pal\Binaries\Win64\ue4ss\Mods\PalSchema\mods\

^-- Make sure the innermost mod folder ends up here, same as any other

PalSchema mod.

2) The Lua script (main.lua) goes into its own UE4SS mod folder:

ue4ss\Mods\EXEC_PALS\Scripts\main.lua
