Description

Diagonal Buildables expands all seven Palworld building sets with 51 new snapping pieces designed for diagonal foundations and roofs. Finally, snapping diagonal fences exist.

The mod supports (well, all of them but might as well list 'em):

  Every piece unlocks alongside its corresponding vanilla building set, so there are no separate technology nodes to purchase.

  Custom pieces have a small lavender corner ribbon on their build-menu icons, making them easy to distinguish from vanilla pieces at a glance. This is useful because I used the same icons as the vanilla pieces and it's otherwise easy to mix them up. If, you know, you don't read the title cards. Like meeeeee during testing.

  No vanilla buildables or icons are replaced.

  Please note that custom diagonal pieces had to be extended in length and the implementation is not always perfect (don't look too closely at the door walls please) but I've done the best I can with what I have available to me. If I find ways to improve them, I will do so.

  Current Limitations

  (please read carefully!!!)

  • []Custom diagonal pieces are not currently paintable. Yes, I also love painting my glass black, this one's a priority to figure out.[/]

    []Some pieces may have visual gaps because of the custom editing - I will do a pass on all pieces to refine placement and fit with other diagonal and vanilla pieces over time to reduce those gaps.[/]

    []Occasionally, pieces may be invisible when first loading in after an update; this seems to be a one-time texture-streaming/cache race issue, not a bug or permanent incompatibility. Just exit your world and then load back in and the invisibility should be resolved. I'll see if I can improve this in the future.[/]

    []Diagonal stairs snap correctly from their foundation-side connector, but their far (upper/lower) ends do not yet snap to the long edge of triangular foundations. Hello stairs to nowhere.[/]

    []Upward and downward stairs are separate build-menu entries rather than variants selected through Alignment Mode. I couldn't figure out a safe way to implement this without separate pieces. Maybe someday. Stairs just really don't want to be diagonal, ok?[/]

    []There may otherwise be odd snapping behavior, and things may not fit as expected with the lengthened pieces.[/]

    []This release has only been tested in single-player on the Steam version.[/]

    []Game Pass and dedicated-server compatibility have not yet been validated. I regularly play on a dedicated server though, so will have the answer to this soon.[/]

    I am working on all of the above and will update the mod when ready. I cannot give a timeline, all this stuff takes a lot of testing and troubleshooting. I just wanted to get this out there now, as I think it's in a workable state and it'll really help to get more eyes on what could be improved. Please manage expectations and report any issues.
