Build in the World Tree
Palworld normally blocks building inside the World Tree. You get the message about being too close to a special boss or facility. This mod removes that block.
-
[]Build structures and base camps anywhere in the World Tree, from the roots to the top.[/]
[]Everything outside the tree stays exactly like vanilla. The small protected spot around each fast travel statue also stays vanilla, the same as statues everywhere on the map.[/]
[]No dependencies. There is nothing else to install.[/]
[]Nothing is written to your save file. Disable the mod and the game is fully vanilla again. Anything you built stays.[/]
Subscribe. Open Mod Management from the main menu. Tick Build in the World Tree and press Save. To turn it off, untick it and press Save.
-
[]In multiplayer the host or the server needs the mod enabled. Dedicated server setup is covered below.[/]
[]The mod is checked against every game update. Most updates do not touch the World Tree and the mod keeps working as is. When an update does change the tree, a new mod version is released and Steam delivers it to you automatically.[/]
[]Backing up your save is always a good habit.[/]
Dedicated servers
The server needs the mod and every player who wants to build in the tree also needs it subscribed on their own game. The game checks the build spot on both sides. Players who never build in the tree do not need anything.
Windows servers
Put the mod files on the server box in steamapps\workshop\content\1623730\3764017581. In PalServer\Mods\PalModSettings.ini set bGlobalEnableMod=True, point WorkshopRootDir at your steamapps\workshop\content\1623730 folder, and add a line ActiveModList=BuildInTreeWorld. Keep your other mod lines, one mod per line. Save and fully restart the server.
Linux servers
The official mod loader only exists in the Windows version of the dedicated server, so the steps above do not work on a Linux server. Install the pak by hand instead.
-
[]On your own PC, subscribe to the mod, then find the file steamapps\workshop\content\1623730\3764017581\pak\BuildInTreeWorld_P.pak[/]
[]On the server, open Pal/Content/Paks and create a folder called ~mods inside it. Keep the ~ at the start of the name. Linux is case sensitive so type the folder names exactly. If your host panel does not accept the ~ the pak can go straight into Pal/Content/Paks instead.[/]
[]Upload BuildInTreeWorld_P.pak into that folder and restart the server.[/]
