Bigger Backpack

More backpack slots for Palworld 1. 0. A small UE4SS Lua mod.

Use it once, then uninstall it. The new slot count is saved in your world, so you don't need the mod afterwards. The steps are below.

Two downloads - pick one

• []BiggerBackpack 500 slots - 500 slots. This is the default and what most people want.

  []BiggerBackpack 100 slots - 100 slots, if you'd like a smaller backpack.

Both use the same BiggerBackpack folder, so installing one replaces the other. The code is identical; the only difference is the slots number in Scripts/config.lua. You can also set it yourself to anything from 54 to 500.

How to use

• []Install UE4SS for Palworld (bUseUObjectArrayCache = false recommended).

  []Back up your save (%LOCALAPPDATA%\Pal\Saved\SaveGames\).

  []Put the BiggerBackpack folder in Pal\Binaries\Win64\ue4ss\Mods\. If you already have one, replace the whole folder, including config.lua.

  []Load your world. A few moments after you spawn, the backpack grows over about 5 seconds (UE4SS.log shows backpack 42 -> 500 slots).

  []Save, quit to title, and reload before you put items in the new slots.

  []Uninstall: delete the BiggerBackpack folder. Your backpack keeps its new size.

Why delete the folder? Setting BiggerBackpack : 0 in mods.txt is not enough on its own, because UE4SS loads any mod folder that has an enabled.txt in it. Deleting the folder is the simple, sure way. (If you'd rather keep the folder, delete enabled.txt inside it as well.)

Starting a new world, or switching between 500 and 100? Put the download you want back in, load the world once, save, quit to title, reload, then delete the folder again.

Good to know

• []Your items are safe. If your save has more slots than the setting (for example going from 500 to 100), the mod only trims empty slots at the end of the backpack. It never deletes items. If items are in the way, it stops there and UE4SS.log tells you which slots to empty.

  []Ctrl+Numpad9 re-runs the check while the mod is installed. Plain Numpad9 is left free for More Accessories.

  []After uninstalling you keep the slot count and everything in it. The extra carry weight only applies while the mod is running, so that goes back to normal.

  []Works in single-player or when you host. As a guest in someone else's world it does nothing, because the host owns your backpack size.

  []Don't combine with other backpack-size mods.

  []Avoid Ctrl+R (UE4SS hot reload). Quit and relaunch instead.

  About the old lag

  Older versions could make the inventory and "store all" lag or hang, and 1. 0. 6 could duplicate items. That wasn't the 500 size: the old versions kept re-running over and over for the whole session. That's fixed. The mod now does its work once after you spawn, then goes idle, and every new slot is a real, separate slot. If your PC still struggles with a big inventory, the 100 download is there for you.

  If you used 1. 0. 6, items it already duplicated can't be told apart from real ones, so the mod leaves them alone.

  • []1. 0. 9 - Two downloads: 500 (default) or 100. Real slots; runs once after you spawn, then idles. Lowering the size trims only empty slots at the end, never items. Updating from 1. 0. 8? Replace the whole folder, including config.lua.

    []1. 0. 8 - Fixed the 1. 0. 6 item duplication and the inventory lag. Capped at 100 as a precaution (lifted in 1. 0. 9).
