📋 About This Mod
Allows to change Birthsign with doomstones.
Description
In vanilla game Birthsign Stones grant one of several greater powers specific to that stone only at night, between 6pm and 6am. Attempting to use them outside these hours will result in the message "No stars shine upon the doomstone." Using a Birthsign Stone will not replace the birthsign and birthsign power chosen at the beginning of the game.
This mod adds the ability to interact with stones during the day, between 6am and 6pm. In this case, you will be asked to change your Birthsign. All old bonuses from your birthsign will be removed, and you will receive all attributes/abilities of the new birthsign.
You can still interact with them at night, gaining corresponding greater powers.
You can find the location of all the stones here. Click on (map) next to the stone you are interested in.
Unfortunately, at the moment I do not know how to implement a full change of birthsign. This mod just removes the abilities of the old birthsign, and adds new ones. The character card will still show the original birthsign chosen when creating the character.
If/when OBSE64 will be updated to vanilla Oblivion's OBSE functionality (SetPlayerBirthsign, GetPlayerBirthsign) I can fix that.
Uninstalling mod will not restore your original Birthsign abilities if you have changed them!!! Interact with the stone that corresponds to your original Birthsign during the day before uninstalling this mod!
Installation
Just install with Vortex
Manual Installation:
-
[]Download .esp file.
[
]Add the .esp files from the download to the \Oblivion Remastered\OblivionRemastered\Content\Dev\ObvData\Data folder.[]Open the plugins.txt file in the \Oblivion Remastered\OblivionRemastered\Content\Dev\ObvData\Data\ folder.
[]Add the line SkyrimStyleBirthsignsStones.esp to the end.
Сompatibility
[]If another mod uses the original birthsign ability IDs and only changes the values/effects in them, then my mod will work correctly with it.
[]If the mod adds new birthsign abilities, creates new IDs for birthsign, then my mod will be incompatible. If/when OBSE64 will be updated to vanilla Oblivion's OBSE functionality (SetPlayerBirthsign, GetPlayerBirthsign, GetBirthsignSpells), I can fix that.
