📋 About This Mod
Goblin Wars are super neat to me. I love seeing the little green guys fight over primitive objects they worship. The only issue, to me, is that they're pretty static. Only two wars are started when the player begins their quest to close the Gates of Oblivion, and the rest must be orchestrated by the player.
Goblin Wars are static no longer! Every 5 in-game days, a new Goblin War has a 20% chance to trigger. Surrounded by shadow, sneaky Goblin thieves steal a rival's totem when no one's watching, and place it in their respective lair. The War Chief of the wronged tribe will embark with a group of Greenskins to the opposition's lair, and attempt to take back what is theirs! That is, if they're able to cross Cyrodiil alive... Whether they succeed or not, they'll be causing trouble in the countryside and cities alike. They will pursue their holy totems anywhere and everywhere, be it a necromancer's sanctum, or the middle of the Imperial City Market.
For observation and testing purposes, an optional file includes an Amulet of Goblin Friendship. On equip, Goblins belonging to any tribe are marked as friendly to the player. The Amulet is located across the water from the Imperial Sewers, at Vilverin. Go to the bandit's camp near the entrance, and by the edge of the wall closest to the waterfront, is a crate. The crate is shot full of arrows, and an apple lies around it. Open it up, and inside is your prize!
Keep in mind:
- Selling a totem will make it impossible for another to spawn
- Putting a totem in a container will make it inaccessible to War Chiefs
- The totems are not actually taken by thieves. It's simulated. Use your imagination!
- The optional Amulet requires TesSyncMapInjector, which may not work for everyone
Installation is simple:
- (Optional, required only for Amulet) Install the required mods, UE4SS for Oblivion Remastered & UE4SS TesSyncMapInjector
- Download this mod :)
- Drop "EnhancedGoblinWar.esp", (and optionally "GoblinAllyAmulet.esp" & "SyncMap" folder) into your "Oblivion Remastered\OblivionRemastered\Content\Dev\ObvData\Data" folder
- Update plugins.txt (found within the same folder) with the new esp(s)' name(s)
And quite importantly, for those with the optional Amulet:
- Move AltarDeluxe.esp to the bottom of your load order in plugins.txt
Enhanced Goblin Wars adds automatic triggers for Goblin Wars in Skyrim, so they occur without player involvement. A small gameplay tweak with 180 endorsements, last updated in May 2025.
