Dragonsword of Lainlyn Redux

After winning the fight at Battlehorn Castle, you start to discover some interesting background behind it. One of those being a journal as part of the quest Unwanted Tenants.

After some investigating, you happen upon Lord Kain, who was the leader of the Knights of the True Horn, and is in possession of an artifact called Dragonsword of Lainlyn. A leveled sword with enchantments added, and a lesser power called Dragon's Breath.

This is an awesome looking sword, and I've always felt it could use some more love, and a bigger boost to it's components, so I made some changes to it making it more worthy of a champion.

First, I removed the enchantments on it, which immediately allows you to add your own enchantments. See pictures above for what I personally did with mine. I added soul trap, disintegrate armor, and drain health with mine.

As for the other aspects of the sword, there are 6 levels of the sword, and according to the wiki page they are a bit unusual.

"The levels for this item are somewhat unusual, because the leveled list uses your character's level as input at low levels, but at higher levels it uses Lord Kain's level (PC-5) as input. This table converts the list, so that the table in all cases shows the version you will receive as a function of your character's level (at the time when you obtain the sword)."

A bit strange how Bethesda set it up, but follow along with me.

What I did is take all 6 records, and doubled the value, health, and damage of each one, making your sword twice as strong and reliable no matter what level you happen to be when you obtain it. That, along with now being able to add your own enchantments makes for a better experience.

I also removed the weight of the sword, so it won't count against your carry limit.

Think of it as a 2X better sword across all levels. 👍

Installation Instructions.

Put the plugin in the following folder

OblivionRemastered\OblivionRemastered\Content\Dev\ObvData\Data

Add the name of the plugin to your Plugins.txt file
