📋 About This Mod

Changes the Difficulty settings to a slider, just like the original. This fixes the large jumps in difficulty settings by allowing granular control.

It's been reported that decimal values are currently ignored by the game for difficulty, rendering this mod largely pointless in 1. 2.  Fixing it would likely require an SKSE plugin, which is beyond my current capability.

Changes the Difficulty settings to sliders, just like the original.  This fixes the large jumps in difficulty settings by allowing granular control.  Values inbetween the displayed 0. 1 increments do actually change the difficulty, but are not displayed to avoid too much jittering in the slider while you're trying to change it.

Values for vanilla difficulties are as follows:

Apprentice=1

Journeyman=3

Note that both sliders correspond to the vanilla difficulty settings in the same way.  Higher numbers mean higher difficulty, not higher damage.  Increasing the Enemy Combat Damage slider will increase the damage done by enemies, but increasing the Player Combat Damage slider will decrease the damage done by the player.  I cannot fix this, as it's simply how the game interprets the difficulty values.

There are some slight visual issues, such as the slider sometimes displaying 0 upon first loading the settings menu, but it's purely visual.  The setting is still set correctly in-game.

This mod should theoretically be fully compatible with other mods which change the difficulty scaling.  They should effect the slider in exactly the same way they would effect the vanilla difficulty settings when the slider is set to the corresponding values.  This is purely a UI mod, which allows finer control over the game's existing difficulty variables.

This mod is NOT compatible with Better Difficulty - OBSE, as that mod uses its own system for difficulty scaling.
