  • v. 1. 0. 01

  • ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  • Description:
  • This is just a small scripting fix I did to try to stop the bug in Deadly
  • Reflex 6. 0 Beta 1 where after doing a \"decapitation\" kill, the NPC is placed in
  • an unconscious state instead of a being dead. That is the only bug this is
  • trying fix. If it somehow fixed other bugs, then great. If not, well, it is what
  • it is. Deadly Reflex is such a awesome mod that I couldn\'t stand seeing that
  • bug making it less so.
  • Disclaimer:
  • I DID NOT create Deadly Reflex. It is created by Skycaptain, and I have no idea
  • who he/she is. Due to his \"disappearance\" regarding DR6 in TESNexus.com, I figure I
  • might as well try to fix the mentioned bug.
  • Is this a perfect fix? I doubt it. From the small testing I have done, it seem
  • to have solved the issue. If you still experience it after using this .esp file,
  • you can let me know the weapon you\'re using and which \"decapitation\" animation
  • took place and I will try to find the solution for it (assuming I can replicate
  • your experience).
  • To Skycaptain:
  • I tried to send you a message through thenexusforums.com but got a message saying
  • that you \"cannot receive any new messages\", and since I have not idea how else to
  • contact you, please forgive my forwardness in releasing this \"fix\" without your
  • permission. If you would like me to remove this from tesnexus.com, just let me
  • know and it will be done.
  • Instructions:
  • Deadly Reflex 6. 0 Beta 1 is, of course, required.
  • You can get it here: http://tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=8273
  • Follow the instructions on how to install it.
  • After installing Deadly Reflex 6. 0 Beta 1, extract and move the
  • \"DeadlyReflex 6 - Combat Moves.esp\" file from this archive to the \"Data\" folder
  • in your Oblivion installation directory. It will ask if you want to overwrite
  • the \"DeadlyReflex 6 - Combat Moves.esp\" from your Deadly Reflex 6. 0 Beta 1
  • installation. Agree to it.
  • Basically, replace the \"DeadlyReflex 6 - Combat Moves.esp\" in your \"Data\" folder
  • with the one in this archive.
  • Credits:
  • Skycaptain - for creating Deadly Reflex
  • Bethesda - for creating TES IV: Oblivion and making it very mod friendly
  • And thank you to all those to made Deadly Reflex possible, by directly helping
  • Skycaptain create and test it, or creating fixes and patches to make it easier
  • to use.
🤖 AI-enhanced — based on mod data

A small scripting fix for Deadly Reflex 6.0 Beta 1 that addresses a bug where decapitation kills leave NPCs unconscious instead of dead. For players using that mod who want this specific fix. Stands out as a targeted patch, but limited to that one issue.

✨ Key Features

Fixes the decapitation bug in Deadly Reflex 6.0 Beta 1 where NPCs remain unconscious instead of dying.
Small scripting fix, focused solely on this one issue.
Compatible with Deadly Reflex 6.0 Beta 1 (as per the mod's purpose).

📊 Pros & Cons

✅ Pros

  • Directly addresses a frustrating bug that breaks immersion in combat.
  • Lightweight fix—doesn't add bloat or change other mechanics.
  • Community-tested with 65 endorsements and over 2,200 downloads.

⚠️ Cons

  • Only fixes the decapitation bug—no other improvements or features.
  • Last updated in 2011, so it may be outdated for current Oblivion setups.
  • Requires Deadly Reflex 6.0 Beta 1 to be installed, which is an older mod.
🎯 Is This For You?
For Oblivion players who use Deadly Reflex 6.0 Beta 1 and are annoyed by the decapitation bug. If you're not using that mod, this fix is useless. Skip if you want broader combat overhauls—this is a single-purpose patch.
📦 Install:Easy· Under 1 minute

💡 Beginner Tips

  • Make sure Deadly Reflex 6.0 Beta 1 is installed before adding this fix.
  • Use a mod manager like OBMM or Wrye Bash to install and manage load order.
  • Test the fix on a saved game with a decapitation kill to confirm it works.
