📋 About This Mod
An unofficial extension to Doodlum's wonderful "Oblivion Reverb Support". New Features Include: Exterior Reverb, Underwater Reverb, Dialogue EAX Volume Control, and new Interior EAX Profiles.
EAXTENSIONS: NEW FEATURES
- Exteriors now support Reverb. EAX Profile is detected based on the player's current Region(s), examples being Forests, Plains, Mountains, Valleys, among others. On top of that, the system includes a transitional EAX Preset to ease changes in environments. Also includes presets for Towns, the Imperial City and Oblivion Worldspaces. (Yes, Shivering Isles is covered too.)
- Support for Custom Regions/Worldspaces and Interior Models via Script Patch (See Articles for Details).
- Expanded Interior EAX Sound Profiles.
- Underwater EAX effect.
- EAX Reverb Volume can be reduced during Dialogue Mode.
- Added a Config file with a few settings to enable/disable certain features of the mod.
- As of v1. 2, all EAX presets can be tweaked at runtime by editing their respective .ini files. You can use a Save/Load to apply changes.
EAXTENSIONS: FIXES & TWEAKS
- Expanded Interior Cell checks to include: Shivering Isles Ruins, Cathedrals, Chapels, Crypts, The Arena, Bloodworks, Palaces, Frostcrag, Cloudruler, CharGen and more.
- Revised Model Path and object size checks to mitigate Interiors being Miscategorised. For Example, any interior using the AnvilCastle paintings in the original mod would get misidentified in the script as a castle, causing the incorrect reverb profile to be applied. Other such cases have likewise been resolved.
- Added a Minimum value to the Room Size check, preventing small cells sounding too "tinny".
- Some Cell Types now have a pre-defined Room Size. It made more sense for dungeons types such as Mines to feel more compact, rather than have the reverb sized be defined by the length of the cell.
- EAX profiles update instantly after a load screen.
EXTERIOR EAX
There are currently (I can't count) EAX profiles built for the Tamriel & Shivering Isles Worldspaces, plus a single profile covering The Deadlands. Plains and Fields have little noticeable reverb, what you can hear is likely to be reflections from the ground and the few objects around you. Within Forests and Marshes you will notice sound reflecting from the trees and scattering amongst the canopies. Frozen Mountain tops will sound just as desolate as they truly are while higher frequencies are absorbed in the snow.
Of course, Towns and Cities also have their own EAX profiles. Not overpowering. Never too much, or too little. Just enough to fill the gaps in the illusion and make Cyrodiil feel a little more alive.
