📋 About This Mod

Recolors various weapons, armors, and creatures in Maskar's Oblivion Overhaul that come franchises outside of The Elder Scrolls.

If you keep up with xenogearslucas lore, you may know that I don't like adding things from other franchises into Oblivion, at least not without my knowledge, as stated on the page for Al Monster Revisited - Simplified and Nerfed. Unfortunately for me, Maskar's Oblivion Overhaul uses a handful of things taken from other games. I personally feel that using things from other game franchises is out of place in an Oblivion overhaul mod, and I think their inclusion in Maskar's Oblivion Overhaul should be publicly disclosed on the mod's page. However, I LOVE Maskar's Oblivion Overhaul, and wouldn't stop using it because of this minor thing, so in order to satisfy this very specific hangup of mine, I have recolored/replaced/altered any object in Maskar's Oblivion Overhaul (that I am aware of) that originates from another franchises, so that they no longer immediately resemble the objects from their source material. Please be aware, the goal of this upload isn't to improve the appearance of the items. It is to make their appearance differ from the games they originate from.

Objects used by MOO from other franchises and their alterations:

- Arthas' Armor from World of Warcraft (from Frostmourne and Lich Kings Armor) - I replaced the armor meshes with armor from  Dread Knight Armor and Weapons lazily recolored black.

- Frostmourne Sword and Shield from World of Warcraft (from Frostmourne and Lich Kings Armor)  - I lazily recolored it all black. Deleted the skull from the shield, and replaced the sword model with Dread Knight Armor and Weapons. Screw WOW.

- 4 shirts from The Witcher 1

- Shirt 1 - Deleted chest straps from shirt. Recolored sleeves green.

- Shirt 2 - Deleted potion loops on belt. Recolored sleeves red and jacket black.

- Shirt 3 - Recolored vest blue, sleeve plates blue, delete belt loops and bottles, shrunk down belt pouch.

- Shirt 4 - Recolored vest blue, sleeve plates grey, deleted belt loops and bottles, shrunk down belt pouch.

- 2 Shoes from The Witcher 1

- Shoes 1 - Recolored black

- Shoes 2 - Recolored brown with black soles

(There are a pair of pants and gloves from The Witcher 1 as well, but they looked generic enough that I didn't feel the need to recolor them.)

- Equipment from Warhammer Online (from Nexons Armory)

- Skull Shield - Recolored black and red

- Grim War Axe - Recolored black handle, lightgrey metal, red eyes on skull

- Dire Slayer - Recolored gold with red accents and black grip.

- Gorefang Axe - Recolored black grip and dark metal

- Witch Steel Axe - Recolored gold with red jewels and black accents.

- Sigmar’s Warmonger - Recolored black with red glowmap

- Steel Flame - Recolor

📊 Pros & Cons

✅ Pros

  • Tackles a real immersion issue for lore purists—those crossover items stick out like a sore thumb.
  • Solid download-to-endorsement ratio (12k downloads) shows people are grabbing it, even if they don't endorse.
  • Recently updated (July 2026), so it's likely compatible with current MOO versions.

⚠️ Cons

  • Only 43 endorsements—small community footprint, so you're relying on a niche modder's taste.
  • No screenshots or detailed feature list in the description, so you're flying blind on what exactly gets recolored.
  • Requires Maskar's Oblivion Overhaul, so it's useless if you don't run that overhaul.
🎯 Is This For You?
For Oblivion players who run Maskar's Oblivion Overhaul and want to strip out the non-Elder Scrolls references for a more cohesive world. Skip if you don't care about lore immersion or don't use MOO.
