📋 About This Mod
This is my first proper texture pack release. It's a high res overhaul of the Imperial fort dungeon interiors. They were made to carefully preserve the tone and feel of the original textures. Like other texture packs these are mainly derived from upscaled versions of the low res originals, but I made sure to put a lot of manual work into them rather than just add a simple detail overlay, and add things like sharper edge definitions which is something you otherwise simply won't get by upscaling.
I have also recently updated my sound overhaul GOSH, so be sure to download the latest update, or check it out if you haven't heard of it before!
Gecko's Fort Interior Textures is a 2K high-resolution texture overhaul for Imperial fort interiors in Skyrim. It replaces the default textures with sharper, more detailed versions, improving visual quality without changing gameplay. With over 3,000 endorsements and 206,000 downloads, it's a popular choice for players seeking a visual upgrade.
✨ Key Features
📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- Community favorite with over 3,000 endorsements and 206k downloads—clearly a go-to for texture overhauls
- 2K textures give a noticeable visual boost without the performance hit of 4K
- Simple texture replacer—no plugin or load order headaches, just drop and play
⚠️ Cons
- Only covers Imperial forts—if you're looking for a complete overhaul, you'll need other mods for other interiors
- Last updated in 2015—might not be optimized for the latest Skyrim versions or mod setups
- No screenshots or detailed previews in the description, so you're flying blind until you try it
For Skyrim players who want sharper, more detailed fort interiors without overhauling the whole game. If you're into visual upgrades and don't mind a mod that's been around a while, this is a solid pick. Skip if you're looking for gameplay changes or a full interior overhaul—this is purely cosmetic and limited to forts.
💡 Beginner Tips
- Since it's a texture replacer, just extract the files into your Data folder or use a mod manager—no plugin needed.
- If you use a mod manager like Vortex or MO2, enable the mod and let it overwrite any conflicting textures.
- Check the mod's compatibility with other texture mods—install order matters if you have multiple overhauls.
