Citizen Empire Bank

Introduction

In the early days of Oblivion, one mod that was consistently present in my load order was Bank of Cyrodiil. It's a great mod, but there wasn't a purpose for it other than accumulating interest over time. One way to add purpose was to add weight to gold, and while it definitely filled the void, over-encumbrance gets annoying. So, with these downsides, I decided to create my own complete and feature-rich banking system.

What this mod does

Citizen Empire Bank has made its way into Cyrodiil, and is headquartered in the Market District, right across from Stonewall Shields. Upon becoming a member, you will gain access to your own checking, savings, and credit accounts, with the ability to deposit and withdraw at your leisure. New custom menus have been made to display and navigate your bank account just like a modern application. UI and controller support have also been implemented for those using NorthernUI.

When entering the bank, you'll be greeted by three tellers; each of them fully voiced using ElevenLabs software. One teller provides access to your bank account, another provides Barter Notes, and the other is in charge of the Credit Rewards Shop (both of which I will explain below). Banking services can also be accessed in any city by speaking to a general goods merchant; however, they do charge a 5% convenience fee.

Gold Cap

Instead of adding weight to gold, it is now capped. You start off with a small coin purse in your inventory that can hold 500 gold, which can be upgraded later on. Even though gold is capped, you can still carry as much as you want; however, once you exceed the threshold, gold will start falling out of your pocket at a rate based on your movement speed. For example, if you're sprinting, gold will fall out of your pocket much faster and in greater quantities vs if you're just walking. So, it's best not to run in this occasion. Also, as a heads up, a new HUD icon will appear to indicate when your pockets are full.

Daily Dividends

Each day (in real time), your savings account will accrue dividends of 2 gold per 1,000 gold stored in your account; for example, if you have 4,000 gold in your savings, you will accrue 8 gold each day. These dividends are stored in a separate pocket of your savings, and you can view the amount by hovering with your mouse. A maximum of 100 dividends will be held in this pocket, and they can be transferred to your savings anytime.
