📋 About This Mod
My dream long sword, added to Oblivion finally... This is a sword I\'ve been working on for a while that is going to go in a castle mod I am going to release in a few months, but it was good enough to release by itself. Hope you like it. The plugin is included that automatically adds the sword to the game. It\'s located near the Skingard stables, on the ground near the sign for the stables. I\'ve also included just the nif, textures, and icon for your use wherever you want to put it. If you have any comments, or any suggestions on what you\'d like to see (even if it\'s something completely different) let me know please! Oh, and if you like it, please rate it! Heck, rate it if ya don\'t like it! lol
A standalone long sword for Oblivion, created by TheMadMage as a preview for an upcoming castle mod. It's a single weapon with 153 endorsements and nearly 10,000 downloads, last updated in 2008. For players who want a unique, lore-friendly sword without extra content.
✨ Key Features
📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- Solid community reception with 153 endorsements and nearly 10k downloads.
- Author has a clear vision—this sword is a passion project, not a quick asset flip.
- Lightweight and focused: just one weapon, no bloat or extra systems.
⚠️ Cons
- Last updated in 2008—likely incompatible with modern Oblivion setups or mods.
- Single weapon only; if you want variety, this won't scratch that itch.
For Oblivion players who want a unique, handcrafted sword to add to their collection without overhauling the game. If you're a completionist or enjoy supporting indie modders, this is a neat find. Skip if you need more content or modern compatibility.
💡 Beginner Tips
- Since it's from 2008, check if your Oblivion install is patched to the latest version to avoid mesh issues.
- Use a mod manager like OBMM or Wrye Bash to keep track of the file and avoid overwriting other weapon mods.
- If you're using Oblivion Script Extender (OBSE), ensure it's updated, though this mod likely doesn't require it.
