Tired of horses that feel more like cardboard cutouts than noble steeds?

This mod overhauls all horses in the game — making them dramatically faster and much tougher. Every horse now sprints like a real animal should and has greatly increased health to survive longer journeys (and unexpected combat).

Perfect for role-players, explorers, or anyone tired of slow travel and fragile mounts.

🐎 What This Mod Does:

• []Increases the base speed of all horses in the game

  []Boosts horse health significantly, making them more durable

  []Applies to every horse — purchased, stolen, or gifted

  []No scripts, no configuration, just hop on and go

  📦 Installation Instructions

  Place the `UsefulHorses.esp` file into your plugin directory based on your version of the game:

  • Game Pass version:

  C:\XboxGames\The Elder Scrolls IV- Oblivion Remastered\Content\OblivionRemastered\Content\Dev\ObvData\Data

  • Steam version:

  C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Oblivian Remastered\OblivionRemastered\Content\Dev\ObvData\Data

  Then either:

  • []Open your `plugins.txt` file and add the line `UsefulHorses.esp` to the bottom

    []Or use a Mod Manager like Vortex to enable it

    This mod only adjusts stats on horses and does NOT touch AI, scripts, or quests. It should work perfectly with any other gameplay or visual mod.
