If you see -MBINCompiler(number x) in version, it means recompile (using x version of MBINCompiler) to maintain version support of the game, has no changelogs to the script or introducing any new changes. -Bugfix said as it is, a bugfix for current version of the game and -rec is recompile with same MBinCompiler but with different game data. Before you complaint, always make sure your mod is up to date, even with bugfixes. My mods "always" targets latest experimental branch (latest version of MBINcompiler), so keep that in mind and keep updating your game.
Developed with 1800PETMEDS that make Ship Spawns, this essentially a evolved version of the mod that made in lua (AMUMSS) that kept updated as the game updates. Because 1800PETMEDS can't handle the scripting, the script are purely ChristianWidjaya's work and will keep updated as ChristianWidjaya's other mods. It contains improvement in many ways too.
First this rebalance the spawn of classes in this way that make sense (in percent). Poor system still vanilla.
System | C | B | A | S |
Poor | 60| 30| 10| 0|
Average| 50| 30| 15| 5|
Wealthy| 40| 30| 20| 10|
After realizing that the Exotic spaceship are too OP in general, renders haulers, shuttle, explorer etc useless, this mod redesigned the ship bonus per ship types (only valid for new ships or ships that upgraded after the mod).
Modifier per class (doesn't apply to exotic and living ship because they are S anyway)
C modifier=25%
B modifier=50%
A modifier=75%
S modifier=100%
Waypoint update (1. 0. 7): Those numbers below on the balance right now are doubled from pre-waypoint, it because waypoint buffed their stats to pushing 120% mark, so may as well just making it through even bigger. Also, new agility stats appears in waypoint. For the sake of streamlining, I make all class bonus for agility the same (look below). It doesn't affect normal engines and stuff, so I didn't change the inventory max for all ship (this goes vanilla).
Hauler (dropship), focus on shield and extra damage to defend self.
Damage=120-200%
Shield=200%
Hyperdrive=0%
Overall=320-400
Fighter, focus on damage and extra shield.
Damage=200%
Shield=120-200%
Hyperdrive=0%
Overall=320-400
Explorer (scientific), focus on shield to survive collisions and extra hyperdrive
Shield=200%
Hyperdrive=120-200%
Overall=320-400
Shuttle, focus on hyperdrive and extra shield.
Shield=120-200%
Hyperdrive=200%
Overall=320-400
Exotic (Royal), All rounder, tighter RNG to justify the cost and rarity.
Damage=120-134%
Shield=120-134%
Hyperdrive=120-134%
Overall=360-402
Bioship (Alien), balance between damage and hyperdrive.
Damage=160-200%
Hyperdrive=160-200%
Overall=320-400
Solar Ship (Sail), balance between damage and shield.
Damage=160-200%
Shield=160-200%
Hyperdrive=0%
Overall=320-400
Interceptor (Robot), focus on damage and extra hyperdrive to intercept.
Damage= 200%
Hyperdrive= 120-200%
Overall=320-400
Since the max is 400-402, now maxed ships are balanced and not being useless, while trying to stick to the purpose of the class.
Feedbacks are welcome.
Since 1. 0. 2:
-Working LUA Script
-Buffs Freighters Hyperdrive range. Hey, what's a freighter main use for if you can't jump Lightyears away with it?
B: 250-499%
A: 500-749%
S: 750-1000%
Since 1. 0. 7:
-Agility bonus is added to every class
Here's as follows
Vanilla, it's variative, being 40-50% is exotic and highest S class modifier. In here, it's streamlined.
Mods to pair this with:
Realistic Space (ChristianWidjaya): Heavily overhaul space experience to be closer to realistic, notably the space flight mechanic and space battles. For true realistic experience.
Special thanks to Gumsk that helped me to learn Lua AMUMSS, otherwise it would take few days to reupload each update.
Balanced Ships rebalances ship class spawn rates and ship type bonuses in No Man's Sky, targeting the latest experimental branch. It adjusts class probabilities per system economy and modifies bonus percentages per class, aiming to make haulers, shuttles, and explorers more viable against exotics. Requires understanding of the mod's update cycle and compatibility with current game versions.
✨ Key Features
📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- Active development with recent update (June 2026) and clear versioning system for game compatibility.
- Community trust with 207 endorsements and nearly 10k downloads.
- Addresses real balance issues by making non-exotic ship types more viable.
⚠️ Cons
- Targets latest experimental branch only, so may break on stable releases or older saves.
- Requires reading license and permission before download, adding friction for casual users.
- No explicit install instructions or dependency list provided in description.
For No Man's Sky players who want a more balanced ship progression and are comfortable with modding on experimental builds. Perfect for those who feel exotics overshadow other ship types and want a reason to fly haulers or shuttles. Skip if you prefer vanilla balance or play on stable versions without mods.
💡 Beginner Tips
- Always check the mod version against your game version; the mod targets the latest experimental branch, so update your game accordingly.
- If you see -MBINCompiler in the version, it's a recompile for compatibility, not a new feature—don't expect changes.
- Back up your save before installing, as the mod affects ship stats and may require new ships to see changes.
