Mathematically Correct ReShade Preset

It's a relatively simple ReShade preset aiming to reduce the washed-out fog/effect filter you can feel in the game, reduce color banding and reduce aliasing with original visual fidelity in mind while staying performance friendly.

It was originally found on my guide but I decided to dedicate a proper nexus page to it.

Update 3. 0 changed many things, while I think it is an objective upgrade someone could still preferer old version so I will keep it alive.

The preset now comes with already configurated UI mask so the shaders effect will not destroy the UI.

Requirements

• []ReShade with addons support, check my guide if unsure on how to install to be compatible with other mods.[/]

  []Mathematically Correct Configuration Chapter A, not technically required but this preset was made with this base configuration in mind.[/]

  []Bande Desinee + SpecialK temporal dithering set to 8/10 bits, not technically required but this preset values, especially those regarding debanding were min-maxed with these two as the foundation.[/]

  Installation

  • []Download "Mathematically Correct ReShade Preset 3. 0" zip file from the main download section.[/]

    []Extract the zip in your NieR Automata root folder.

    Note: If you already have a reshade2.ini, either delete it along an eventual reshade3.ini, or rename it to be the last to load (or merge).[/]

    []In game press HOME to open ReShade UI and make sure that:

    1. The preset directory is correctly selected.

    2. The preset is correctly selected and loaded.

    3. The addons directory is correctly selected.

    4. The ReshadeEffectShaderToggler addon is enabled alongside the two shader groups.[/]

    []After testing and making eventual edits don't forget to tick performance mode in the lower right corner.[/]

    If you don't like the color correction over the UI, you can:

    • []Download the "No UI Color Correction" zip file from the optional download section.[/]

      []Extract the zip in your NieR Automata root folder.

      Note: You can optionally revert back the changes by overwriting the now current ReshadeEffectShaderToggler.ini with the one in the backup folder.[/]
