📋 About This Mod
Inspired by New Vegas Sign Ranger Guard by ClayVn. That mod does not allow bugfixes or improvements, so I made a new one.
Description
In the intro cinematic of a new game, you see a sniper on the Welcome to New Vegas sign shoot a Fiend hiding behind a patrol car. In the game, there is no sniper, no place for a sniper, and no patrol car. Very disappointing. This mod adds all that back in! Even the dead Fiend! (Though, he's already been looted. It did take you a while to reach New Vegas after all.)
The sniper nest is accessible, but not recommended. The ladder is there so the sniper can get back up there if he comes down for some reason. If you go up there, you can see over the walls into New Vegas and Camp McCarran, which is immersion-breaking. Also, it's not very companion friendly either—it's a small space for a lonely sniper, not built for a crowd.
The sniper is an NCR Ranger, so expect to take some fire if you're not friendly with the NCR.
Main file: DLC independent. Uses only core game assets.
There's a patch for Loot All Cars Trucks Golf Carts Vehicles by Tommy.
Known Incompatibilities
New Vegas Sign Ranger Guard would give you overlapping sniper nests.
The optional file "LRP Nexus Community Pack 1" from the LadderRestorationProject would give you overlapping sniper nests and ladders.
Strip South Gate moves the Welcome to New Vegas sign out of position.
New Vegas post apocalyptic moves the Welcome to New Vegas sign to a different cell.
Version 1: Original upload
Version 1. 1: Bug fix. The upper platform should now be present for all users.
Permissions
Free to use. Seriously, I consider this a bug fix. The intro movie shows all this is there when you get shot in the head, so it should still be there when you reach New Vegas.
