📋 About This Mod
Useful Megaton Water Purifier (TTW)
If you have repaired the pipe leaks Walter will let you use the purifier for a couple of days, after that you'll have to pay 70 caps each week to access it. Talk to Walter to rent the purifier.
To purify water put the bottles inside that machine thing inside the Water Processing Plant. After some time and a notification you can pick up the purified water from the other machine next to it (see pictures)
If Walter dies the purifier will be left open for use. You wouldn't kill a kind oldman just to save some caps right?
Requires TTW of course.
Recomended to pair with Universal Water Bottling and Every Bottle for Universal Water Bottling.
Support for other water mods: Other types of water can be easily added to the purifier list, just add the item to the list with FNVEdit.
Patch for Water Overhaul is available here.

📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- Huge download count (117,274) shows real demand for this feature.
- 342 endorsements from a niche TTW audience—solid community approval.
- Mid-playthrough install/uninstall is a huge QoL win for existing saves.
⚠️ Cons
- Only works in Megaton—if you're not based there, it's useless.
- No mention of compatibility with other water purifier mods—could conflict.
- Requires Tale of Two Wastelands, so vanilla Fallout 3 or New Vegas players are out of luck.
For Tale of Two Wastelands players who want a lore-friendly way to turn dirty water into clean water without hauling it to a workbench. If you're a Megaton resident or roleplay as a wasteland survivalist, this is a must-have. Skip if you're playing vanilla Fallout 3 or New Vegas—this mod is TTW-only.
💡 Beginner Tips
- Make sure you've completed the 'Water Purification' quest and repaired the leaks before trying to use the purifier.
- If you're using a mod manager like Mod Organizer 2, just drop the file in and activate—no load order tweaks needed.
- Test it on a save before committing—since it's mid-playthrough safe, you can always remove it if it clashes with other mods.
