Spring Mountains Reborn

Spring Mountains Reborn is an imagining of a location that was cut during the development of Fallout: New Vegas. Spring Mountains (or Mountain Springs, referring to the unincorporated community in roughly the same location in the game) was supposed to be a location based upon the real world Spring Mountains National Recreation Area. The location was meant to be between Tribal Village, and the Bonnie Springs-to-Red Rock Canyon route. Little is actually known about this location beyond the cell still being named MountainSprings, an audio marker, unused sign, and the surprisingly fleshed out (but still rudimentary) canyon the location was going to feature.

The area is properly dressed up as a recreation/trail/picnic area. I used some reference from the real world location, so there's plenty of trees, and greenery, but nothing too excessive. Don't expect anything out of scope like a massive dungeon, or new enemies. Just Cazadors and Fire Geckos. Loot is balanced for the area. Energy Weapon players lacked a decent mid-game weapon they could get their hands on if they took the route with some chest hair, so now they can get access to a decent condition Plasma Defender. Care was taken so the area both fits in with vanilla New Vegas' map design, whilst still being somewhat unique visually.

I did some basic housekeeping. Collision markers, are kept intact as much as possible, and expanded. All edited-from-vanilla objects have been disabled instead of deleted. Navmeshes aren't perfect, but I did make sure they were at least functional and not overdone. Unfortunately some navmeshes were deleted (not too knowledgeable on how to prevent that) so instability from conflicts with mods that adjust the navmeshes in the tribal village, and Bonnie Springs-to-Red Rock Canyon route are likely (compatibility patches are a must) Dirty edits have been removed as much as possible. Due to the necessity of changed and added navmeshes, mod is contained as an ESM.

This mod is not compatible with any mods that use the same space. I don't play MoreMojave or AWOP anymore (frankly I find New Vegas' map does not lend itself well to cramped location density) but a compatibility patch for Strip Lights Region Fix is included.

Finally, you may noticed I've avoided calling this cut content restoration. Whilst technically true and false (after all the area is "restored" conceptually) there's not really anything to restore since we know so little. We don't really know anything about what the location was supposed to be beyond remnants. This mod is essentially an educated estimate of what the location could've been.
