📋 About This Mod
What is this?
This is just a 2x re-texture of the vanilla LMG mesh in a vanilla-ish style. So this will work with say TTW or Weapon Mesh Improvement (even though I don't think those mods edit the LMG). This won't work with WAP when it eventually adds a new model.
Also just to be very clear, this is only a texture mod and does not fix any of the mesh issues with the vanilla LMG. So if you're experiencing a bug, its more then likely a vanilla issue or something you've installed.
Why make this?
I intended this just to be a quick re-texture which I was just going to clean up the OG texture to make it a little less crusty. However when I did upscale said texture it really didn't work at the 2k resolution and was missing way too much information for it too look "good". So I ended up remaking a high poly model and baking out a whole normal map, hopefully this has resulted in a less crusty LMG that people can use.
I'm also well aware that Millenia has already made a fantastic/better texture 10 years ago, But I do feel that this looks different enough for it to exist as a mod for those that want something close-ish to vanilla.
Oh also why I wrote "M-154" on the side of the gun is because of what was mentioned by Joshua Sawyer "It's a mishmash of M60 and M249 SAW parts." so well half of 60 is 30 and half of 249 is 124. 5... M154 sounded better then M154. 5 or M155 which is why I named it that, I know very creative but as far as I could tell there isn't really much "lore" on this gun so I just made some BS up :)
I don't really like how this turned out but this project blew way out what it was initially going to be, so at the moment it is what it is. I might come back to this later and give it another pass but I have other weapons I want to edit.

Just drop it into your data folder or let a mod organizer handle everything.
