Why did I do this?

Due to the rising interest in this old ass game, a buddy of mine has been streaming his first blind playthrough on Twitch. When he got to Novac for the first time, he decided to go after the perp that sold Carla Boone off to the Legion. While watching him stumble between the different suspects, I realized there’s really no clear direction given by the game. A prospective player may peek into Jeannie May's safe, aand a scumbag might go through her pockets the first time they meet her and find the key to the safe, but there is no definite lead.

Yes, No-Bark does give the most accurate lead... but what if that lunatic was lying?

What if everyone in town you asked about it was lying?

For me, Boone's dialogue post-execution always seemed like Jeannie was among a number of NPCs that could be the his wife's seller. There are line that are gender-specific when talking about who he just killed, and when handed the Bill of Sale, he says "they" - not "he" or "she".

In vanilla, there are 7 different characters you can accuse and send to the front of the Dinky-Dinosaur for an execution: Jeannie May Crawford, Manny Vargas, No-Bark Noonan, Cliff Briscoe, Alice McBride, Dusty McBride, and Ranger Andy.

With this mod, it can be any one of them.

Details:

[]One of the seven accusable NPCs is now capable of being Carla Boone’s seller.

[]The actual perpetrator is selected at random on saves where the quest hasn’t been interacted with. This will not work if you’ve already started asking about Carla, begun the quest, or obtained the safe key or the "Bill of Sale."

[]Respects Novac townies who comment on who Boone killed. In most playthroughs, you only hear what they have to say about Jeannie. Now, you’ll hear comments about whoever else was deaded.

[]The safe is moved into the selected NPC's home.

Jeannie’s name is replaced on the Bill of Sale and key.

The key is relocated to the selected NPC.

Safe ownership is reassigned.
