📋 About This Mod
Applies a "hit stop" effect as seen in games like Monster Hunter on melee hits.
_R2JAY8_2J8
This means all melee weapons apart from ones in the "automatic" list which includes:
-
[]Thermic Lance[/]
[]Ripper[/]
[]Chainsaw[/]
It DOES include unarmed attacks.
Optionally slows down time and applies a relatively subtle IMOD on melee kills too (though these can include automatic weapons).
You can configure:
-
[]Hitstop on NORMAL hits on or off[/]
[]Hitstop on CRITICAL hits on or off[/]
[]Hitstop effect on death on or off[/]
[]Slowdown time length for hits[/]
[]Slowdown time length for deaths[/]
[]How much to slow time down by (defaults to what I think is optimal)[/]
This was requested on Discord so I got to work, but then found S6S had already done this mod! So I did have a look in the source of that mod. You may prefer it, check it out.

[]Hitstop on NORMAL hits on or off[/]
Adds a Monster Hunter-style hit stop effect to melee attacks in Cyberpunk 2077, enhancing combat feedback. A lightweight Scriptrunner mod with 246 endorsements and 16,711 downloads, last updated April 2026.
✨ Key Features
📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- Community-approved with 246 endorsements and over 16k downloads
- Adds satisfying combat feedback that makes melee hits feel weighty
- Simple concept that directly improves game feel without overhauling combat
⚠️ Cons
- Requires Scriptrunner, so you'll need to set that up first
- Only affects melee hits—ranged combat is untouched
For Cyberpunk 2077 players who want more impactful melee combat and enjoy visual/feel tweaks. If you're a melee-focused build or just like Monster Hunter's hit stop, this is a must-try. Skip if you prefer vanilla combat feel or don't want to bother with Scriptrunner.
💡 Beginner Tips
- Make sure Scriptrunner is installed and up to date before adding this mod, as it won't work without it.
- Test the effect on different weapon types—some may feel more pronounced than others.
- If you're using other combat mods, check for compatibility issues in the posts section.
