DESCRIPTION

As with many recent release of mine, this was one I started--and finished--well over a year ago. As a result, there are things I would likely do differently here, but it was largely deemed good enough to release--especially since we currently have no released Tesla Cannon animations, and especially since I've spent enough time banging my head against a wall and trying to fix issues with it.

I should mention those issues, because they effected how the animation turned out. Basically, the node skeleton had rotation issues. For those of you who don't know, nodes are what make the little parts of the gun move: levers, clips, and so on. Since the nodes were broken, they wouldn't import correctly in-game. I was able to hack fix it for the jam animation, but not the reload, and thus the animation set languished for months upon months. Hitman--being the gem of a human being he is--tried to help me fix this issue before release, but the only feasible solution would be one that broke the nodes in third-person. While I don't support third-person, I have no intention of breaking it ever.

The reload, then, was intended to be far more detailed and interesting than the one you have now. I opted to do a reload that used no nodes whatsoever, making your character push a make-believe button on the handle so the gun would "charge" up with some chopped up sound effects that Hopper31 generously pointed me towards. It's not perfect by any means, but the benefit of this is that the reload is now the same time length as the vanilla animation, and that this animation set gets released. Because, even if I would have liked to be dealing with levers, stabilizers, and so on, this animation is still better than what we have for vanilla.
