📋 About This Mod
This is now included in Targeted Texture Enhancements
Description:
Pretty simple, check the description for comparison. The original asset is from Point Lookout and used textures from Fallout 3's Oasis, so the texture is very grey and mossy compared to most of the trees in New Vegas. Also provided an alternate version which simply uses the vanilla game's Joshua Tree bark texture for any pure vanilla visual enjoyers.
Asset is used a handful of times in vanilla (Camp Golf, for example), but is also used quite a bit in some location overhauls, such as my Lived-In All-in-One or Expanded Mojave - Grub n Gulp. Texture is 1024x2048, can't imagine any performance impact even on the weakest of systems (I use an iGPU laptop).

Consistent Firewood is a small texture mod for Fallout: New Vegas that replaces the firewood pile texture with one that better matches the game's aesthetic, removing the Fallout 3 Oasis asset. With 141 endorsements and over 150k downloads, it's a popular, lightweight fix for visual consistency.
✨ Key Features
📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- Community-approved with 141 endorsements and over 150,000 downloads.
- Fixes a visual inconsistency that lore-focused players will appreciate.
- Lightweight and easy to install—just drop in and go.
⚠️ Cons
- Only affects one texture—if you're looking for broader visual overhauls, this won't do much.
- No screenshots or detailed previews provided, so you'll have to see it in-game.
- Last updated in February 2025—likely compatible with current versions, but no explicit compatibility notes.
For Fallout: New Vegas players who notice small visual inconsistencies and want a more cohesive wasteland. Perfect for modders building a lore-friendly load order. Skip if you want major texture overhauls—this is a single-item fix.
💡 Beginner Tips
- Since it's a simple texture replacer, just drop the files into your Data folder and enable the mod in your launcher or mod manager.
- If you use a mod manager like Vortex or Mod Organizer 2, install it through there to keep your load order clean.
- This mod doesn't require any patches, but if you have other texture mods that touch firewood, load order might matter—place this one after them.
