📋 About This Mod
Boxguy the Box returns once again! After the events of (https://romhackplaza.org/romhacks/boxguy-adventure-nes/)** and (https://romhackplaza.org/romhacks/boxguy-adventure-2-sega-master-system-romhack)**... Boxguy is now in dinosaur land due the Chaos Emeralds opening to portal which Boxguy thought it would bring him back his world. Man... why does Boxguy always gets transported to the wrong world every time he defeats a world's villain when the hero of that world is gone for whatever reason. A very tired Boxguy sees Bowser taking the princess and knows that he's once again going to save another world. But starts to lose a bit of hope of going home. All the levels are done. The only updates I will do for now are level design improvements and fixes. Similar to (https://romhackplaza.org/romhacks/boxguy-adventure-nes/)** and (https://romhackplaza.org/romhacks/boxguy-adventure-2-sega-master-system-romhack)** new levels will be added via updates so expect a lot bug fixes updates and new level updates. This hack is harder then the original [Super Mario World ](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Super_Mario_World)not by much but still harder. V2 update - Some level design improvements and mainly a more finished World 1 Castle. I also fixed some shading on one of Boxguy's sprites. V3 update - Donut Plains 1 (aka 2-1) level is more finished and some improvements have been done to the previous Yoshi's island levels. V4 (X-mas Update!) - The Donut Plains map is now snowy, a new level was added (Donut Plains 2 is somewhat finished but the level design is rough...) both Donut Plains 1 and 2 have some new music and a winter theme. (No worries everyone's favorite PAL song is in the Donut Plains 1 Cape Bonus area.) Plus some more level improvements on Donut Plains 1 and the previous Yoshi's Island levels. V5 - More finished Donut Plains 2 and small changes to Donut Plains Ghost House. Yosh
Boxguy Adventure 3: Super Boxguy World is a romhack sequel where Boxguy lands in dinosaur land after a Chaos Emerald mishap. With zero endorsements and downloads, it's a fresh, unproven entry in the series. The description is thin, offering little beyond the premise, so expect a niche, experimental experience.
✨ Key Features
📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- Continues the quirky Boxguy saga, so fans of the first two will want to see what's next
- The Chaos Emerald crossover hints at some wild, unexpected plot twists
- Fresh release means you can get in on the ground floor before the community discovers it
⚠️ Cons
- Zero endorsements and downloads means it's completely untested by the community
- The description is bare-bones, so you're going in blind on gameplay and features
- Being a romhack, you'll need to source the original ROM yourself, which is always a hassle
This is for die-hard fans of the Boxguy Adventure series who've played the NES and Master System hacks and crave more. It's also for romhack explorers who enjoy obscure, low-key projects with a silly premise. If you're new to Boxguy, start with the earlier entries first.
💡 Beginner Tips
- Make sure you have a legal dump of the original game the hack is based on, since romhacks typically require patching a base ROM.
- Use a dedicated patching tool like Lunar IPS or Floating IPS to apply the hack, and test it in an emulator before playing on real hardware.
- Check the romhackplaza.org page for any specific patch instructions or additional files you might need.
