MWC Music Converter

The ultimate, one-click solution for your My Winter Car radio and CD player

Regarding the "Suspicious file" warning:

I honestly don't know why Nexus is flagging this. I've scanned the file and VirusTotal shows 0/70 detections (completely clean).

It's likely just an automatic system flag because it's a new .exe file. Feel free to scan the file yourself before running it

⚠️ IMPORTANT UPDATE REGARDING SECURITY & AV ALERTS:

1. Manual Staff Verification:

I am pleased to inform you that this tool has been manually reviewed and approved by the Nexus Mods Staff. I have provided the full source code to the moderation team for a security audit to ensure 100% transparency and safety for the community.

2. Why do some Antiviruses (like Windows Defender) flag it?

The program is written in Python and compiled into a standalone .exe using a tool called PyInstaller. Because it lacks an expensive "Extended Validation" digital certificate, some AI-based scanners (SentinelOne, Defender) flag it as a "False Positive".

Common technical reasons for flags:

• [] Self-Extraction: The app unpacks its own libraries to run without installation.

[] Command Execution: It needs to trigger FFmpeg to convert your music.

[] System Access: It automatically finds your Steam folder to save you time.

  3. Future Improvements:

I am currently working on a new file structure (moving from a single file to a dedicated folder) to reduce these heuristic alerts and make the tool's behavior more "transparent" for your antivirus software.

Verdict: The file is 0/70 Clean on VirusTotal. If your system blocks it, you can safely add it to your exclusions. Thank you for your trust!

  Why use this tool?

Manually converting files to .ogg and renaming them to "track1", "track2", etc., is a pain. This tool automates the entire process so you can spend more time driving and less time managing files.

  Key Features:

  • [] Auto-Detection: Automatically finds your Steam installation of My Winter Car.

[] Smart Numbering: Detects existing tracks in your CD folders and offers to continue numbering (e.g., if you have track1-5, it will start from track6).

[] Multi-Format Support: Converts MP3, WAV, FLAC, and M4A directly to the game-ready .ogg format.

[] CD Slot Selector: Quickly switch between CD1, CD2, and CD3 folders with one click.

[] Standalone Engine: Built-in FFmpeg audio engine. No need to install anything else!
