Actually Snow

  []Player doesn't have a model by default, so I recommend using dave14's BPM mod if you want to see the snow trail when going for a walk.[/]

  []I had to partially retopo the map, because this shader depends on a quad-based topology. If you're no good with this - don't download it or blame TG, not me. There are still some bad spots, but whatever. I'm done with ranting, thank you for reading this :)[/]

  Features and limitations

  Limitations:
  • []Track displacement shows on a single sector at a time.[/]

    []Any sector outside of the active radius will be unloaded, otherwise it'll cause a memory leak over time. Track data is preserved in a vector format, so previously visited sectors are instantly restored.[/]

  Not a limitation, but: As of now, I didn't find any reliable way to calculate every vehicle bounds (bounding boxes are out of question) to implement snow clumps and a flying powder effect. Maybe later.

  Settings section

  • []Snow Height: Adjusts maximum track depth and snowbank height.[/]

    []Snow Sparkle Intensity: Brightness of snow crystal glints as you move around. [/]

    []Snow Recovery Speed: Sets track fill-in rate and snow accumulation based on in-game time. [/]

    []GPU Edge Subdivision Length: Mesh detail (lower = smoother snow track, but eats more FPS).[/]

    Installation

    Download the archive and extract its contents into your My Winter Car/Mods folder.
