📋 About This Mod
MWSE mod that adds visible meshes to the player and npc when equipping belts.
Some of you may remember my other mod Visible Belts - Onion. This mod is the same idea, but expanded and improved.
This version only requires MWSE and simply adds visible meshes to the player when equipping already existing belts. It works by finding preexisting belt ground mesh names\file paths and adding the corresponding mesh to the player\npcs upon equip, so any mod that adds belts but uses vanilla meshes is natively supported. The belts show over clothes and armor, but there is also an option in the MCM to disable belts showing over armor if you'd like.
That Belt of Sanguine Sureflight or Belt of the Armor of God you want to wear and wish could be seen? They can now!
Mods that add custom belt meshes that are supported (not required just supported):
Tamriel_Data
Unique Finery Replacer UFR
There is also an optional patch for some belts in TD. It fixes one ground mesh that has backwards normals and two belts that have swapped icons.
Made for MWSE and probably not compatible with OpenMW. I don't use it so no I will not try and make it compatible (I have no way to test it), please don't ask. If someone else wants to do it they have my permission.
Visible Belts is an MWSE mod that adds visible belt meshes to the player and NPCs when equipping existing belts. It supports any mod using vanilla belt meshes plus Tamriel_Data, OAAB_Data, and Unique Finery Replacer, with an MCM toggle to hide belts over armor. Optional patch fixes a few Tamriel_Data belt issues. Not OpenMW-compatible.
✨ Key Features
📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- Adds visible belts to both the player and NPCs — finally your Belt of Sanguine Sureflight shows up.
- Native support for any mod using vanilla belt meshes, plus Tamriel_Data, OAAB_Data, and Unique Finery Replacer.
- Compact, single-purpose MWSE mod (137 downloads) that doesn't bloat your load order.
⚠️ Cons
- No OpenMW support — if you play on OpenMW, this mod won't work.
- Requires MWSE, so you're committed to the original engine with MWSE installed.
- Only recognizes belt meshes from vanilla or listed mods; custom belts with new meshes won't appear.
For Morrowind players running MWSE who want their character's equipped belts to actually show up in-game. Great if you use Tamriel_Data or OAAB_Data content mods and want visual consistency without manual mesh edits. Skip if you're on OpenMW or prefer zero MWSE dependencies.
💡 Beginner Tips
- Launch Morrowind via MWSE-Update.exe so the mod's Lua scripts load correctly.
- Open the in-game Mod Config Menu to toggle belts over armor on or off.
- If you use Tamriel_Data, grab the optional patch to fix swapped belt icons and a backwards normal.
