📋 About This Mod
The whole point of the original mod was to make it so that enchanted items didn't have that horrible plastic-like glow effect when you wore them. This does the same thing but is updated to work with newer releases of the game.
This is the first "mod" I've ever "made" so I apologize if I accidentally broke one of the rules or did something incorrectly. Please let me know if there's an error and I'll do my best to fix it.
Updated Pluginless NoGlow is a compatibility fix for the original Pluginless NoGlow mod, which failed for many users due to outdated files conflicting with newer Morrowind releases. This update refreshes those files to ensure the no-glow effect works properly. It's a simple, essential fix for players experiencing the issue.
✨ Key Features
📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- Fixes a common issue where the original mod didn't work for many users (244 endorsements show it's appreciated).
- Simple drop-in replacement—no plugin needed, just file overwrite.
- Lightweight and does exactly what it says: updates outdated files.
⚠️ Cons
- Last updated in 2018—may not be tested with the latest Morrowind patches or mod setups.
- Only addresses the file priority issue; doesn't add new features or options.
- Requires the original Pluginless NoGlow mod to be installed first, but the description doesn't link to it.
For Morrowind players who tried the original Pluginless NoGlow and found it didn't work, especially those on Steam or GOG versions. Also for anyone who wants a no-glow effect without using plugins. Skip if you never had issues with the original or prefer plugin-based solutions.
💡 Beginner Tips
- Make sure you have the original Pluginless NoGlow mod installed first, then overwrite its files with this update.
- If you're using a mod manager like Mod Organizer 2, place this mod after the original in your load order to ensure the updated files take priority.
- This mod is pluginless, so it won't affect your load order—just file conflicts matter.
