📋 About This Mod
Introduction:
-> This mod changes all gauntlets in game into hand-to-hand type "weapons".
How to:
-> Gauntlets do more or less damage depending on their weight-class (Heavy, medium, light), their condition, and your Strength and Hand-to-Hand stats. There is also a multiplier involved, which can be configured in the MCM menu.
-> The more damage you do, the more your gauntlets condition deteriorates, and thus the less damage you will do on your next attack. This mechanic work similar to the vanilla weapons one, but applied to Gauntlets. This can be fully configured in the MCM menu.
-> If you have "Cast-on-use" enchants to your gauntlets, these will act as "Cast-on-strike" while hitting in hand-to-hand. This can be turned off in the MCM menu.
-> The damage done is considered as "Normal weapon damage". It won't affect ghosts etc., but the vanilla behavior of fatigue damage will still apply to them.
Installation:
-> This is an MWSE mod. To install it, just merge the MWSE folder inside the 7z file with your own.
-> For this mod to work, you will need the latest (as for 04/30/2022) version of MWSE nightly 2. 1.
-> I mean it. If you are not sure of which version you have, just run the MWSE-Update.exe.
-> First and foremost, special thanks to Sephumbra. This mod would not have been possible without his help.
-> Thanks also to NullCascade, Greatness7, C3Pa, Axemagister and Safebox, they helped me a lot.
The Iron Fist is a small gameplay mod for Morrowind that makes wearing gauntlets during hand-to-hand combat deal health damage to opponents, adding a new strategic layer to unarmed fights. With 91 endorsements and 1,650 downloads, it's a niche but appreciated tweak for players who want more depth in fistfights.
✨ Key Features
📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- Tiny but clever twist that makes gauntlets actually matter in fistfights.
- 91 endorsements from a niche audience — clearly some people love this idea.
- Lightweight mod that doesn't overhaul the whole combat system, just adds a punch.
⚠️ Cons
- Only works if you're wearing gauntlets — so it's useless for bare-knuckle purists.
- No documentation or install instructions beyond the one-line description.
- Last updated in 2022 — might have compatibility issues with newer MWSE versions.
For Morrowind players who enjoy unarmed builds and want a bit more oomph when wearing gauntlets. If you're a purist who fights bare-handed, this mod won't do anything for you. Skip if you want a full combat overhaul — this is a single, focused tweak.
💡 Beginner Tips

- Test the mod in a quick save before committing to a long playthrough, just to see if it works with your other mods.
- If you're using a mod manager, install it like any other MWSE mod; otherwise, just drop the files into your Data Files folder.
