📋 About This Mod
Description
A full PBR conversion for Tamriel Data. Meant for usage with usage with my PBR fork and MVR PBR v2
Liam's Kitbashed PBR
Installation instructions
There are various files. The main diffuse textures are offered in full or half res. Normals are offered in half res. Specular/PBR in half and quarter. Diffusespec landscape textures in 1024, 2048. and 4096. I think as a starting place Half Res Diffuse / Normals / Specular and 2048 diffuse maps is probably good.
Main features
This just replaces most of Tamriel Data with PBR textures. Metal maps, roughness, AO, heightmaps, normals, subsurface scattering for foliage.
Things are far from perfect, for some texture I cloned and edited out shadows and made them closer to true albedo textures, for others I left a fair amount of shading in and didn't fully clean it up. There are probably various places where things are too rough or too smooth as well, most textures go through some amount of automated assignment using my python scripts and then I go and tweak them by eye in photoshop without checking each one in game. I flew through the world and wrote down bad textures a lot over the past year and slowly replaced them but I can't see everything in an efficient manner.
Most of the metal maps are a combination of simple automated mask segmentation with me hand tweaking them. I'll be totally honest in some cases I guessed at what was and wasn't metal so if some leather has turned to bronze here and there or vice versa I apologize, sometimes it's easy to mix these up and spending 6 hours straight with the photoshop selection tools from CS6 kind of rots your brain.
Feel free to let me know if I broke something or if somethings ugly. I didn't upscale any of the custom paintings and the ones I upscaled that were edits of old paintings I just resized and applied a Kuwahara too and I'm not gonna do those anything else is fair game for a remake. I think a lot of stuff got overbrightened in my attempts to delight it. At some point my python script that converts PNGs to DDS had an issue and a bunch of stuff got exported without alpha, I think I fixed it all but there may be some stragglers. It's literally 20 thousand files that I've done in batches over a long long time so it's easy to miss something. At some point I'll get around to making a google doc to submit requests.
CURRENT BUGS ALREADY REPORTED:
Just delete these files and their respective normals. Keeping the _spec should be fine

✨ Key Features
📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- Ambitious scope—covers nearly all textures, so you get a consistent visual overhaul
- Active development (updated June 2026) means it's likely to improve over time
- Decent download count (4,325) shows interest from the community
⚠️ Cons
- Still WIP, so some textures may be incomplete or inconsistent
- Low endorsement count (29) relative to downloads—could indicate issues or niche appeal
- Requires Tamriel Data and a PBR-capable setup (e.g., OpenMW with PBR support), which adds complexity
For Morrowind players who use Tamriel Data and want modern PBR visuals without replacing every texture manually. Skip if you prefer vanilla-style graphics or don't have a PBR-capable engine.
💡 Beginner Tips
- Make sure your Morrowind setup supports PBR (e.g., OpenMW 0.49+ with shaders) before installing.
- Since it's a total conversion, install it after Tamriel Data and let it overwrite—don't mix with other texture mods.
- Check the mod's page for updates regularly; WIP mods often fix broken textures in patches.
