📋 About This Mod

Skullcrusher Redone

Description

A remake of the artifact Skullcrusher - smaller, metallic, but still reminisce of the original design. There are two versions of the mod: one with vanilla sized textures (good for a lightly modded game), one with more modern sized textures. There are also optional files to give the metal a more vanilla-like colour, if you prefer.

I have also uploaded a miscellaneous file with the default diffuse/specular/normal maps for anyone that wants to add some more shaders to it (because I don't know how to).

Compatibility

Will overwrite the mesh of Skullcrusher. There is no .esp, so it's compatible with mods that alter Skullcrusher's stats.

Installation

Copy the contents of the archive to your Morrowind\Data folder. Overwrite existing files if it asks you to.

Alternatively, you can install with Vortex using the Mod Manager Download button.

Morrowind Rebirth: I used the mesh replacer of Rebirth as reference when making this mod.

TOOLS USED: 3DS Max 2018, NifSkope 2. 0, Paint. NET, Substance Painter 2018, and Knald.

📊 Pros & Cons

✅ Pros

  • Community favorite with 277 endorsements and 76k downloads—clearly a lot of people dig it
  • Smaller, metallic look gives the weapon a more practical feel while staying true to the original
  • Simple cosmetic change that doesn't mess with stats or gameplay

⚠️ Cons

  • Last updated in 2019—might have compatibility issues with newer Skyrim versions or mods
  • No screenshots or detailed description provided, so you're flying blind on the exact look
  • Only changes the appearance; if you wanted a full rebalance or new effects, this isn't it
🎯 Is This For You?
For Skyrim players who love the Skullcrusher artifact but wish it looked a bit more refined and less bulky. If you're a collector of weapon retextures and remodels, this is a solid pick. Skip if you're after gameplay changes—this is purely visual.
📦 Install:Easy· Under 1 minute

💡 Beginner Tips

  • Since it's a mesh replacer, make sure to place it after any mods that alter the same weapon in your load order to ensure it takes effect
  • If you're using a mod manager like Vortex or MO2, just download and install—no special setup needed
  • Check the mod's file section for any optional files or patches that might be needed for compatibility with other weapon mods
