Sincerely Expressed Recognition and Accolades (SERA)

60+ of new compliments and acknowledgements from NPCs who will now recognise and respond positively (and at times, negatively) to the player's equipped items. Submitted under Fortune & Woe for the May Modathon 2024.

Sincerely Expressed Recognition and Accolades (S. E. R. A) aims to increase player immersion by adding new voice lines to NPCs. Each line of dialogue has it's own trigger requirements. These include:

• []Player has specific items equipped. E.g. Colovian Fur Helm (each race and gender has a unique voice line just for this phenomenal piece of headgear)

  []Player has certain artefacts equipped. E.g. Volendrung

  []Player has certain materials equipped. E.g. Bonemold armour (typically the cuirass will act as the trigger)

  []TD items are included, and the list will continue to grow as I develop the mod

  All S. E. R. A lines were trained on the original audio files that shipped with the game. My aim is that a new player ideally shouldn't be able to differentiate these modded lines from vanilla. So in that sense it should feel vanilla-friendly.

  Not every response will be positive. For example, members of the Temple won't respond nicely if they catch you wearing a relic of the 6th House or Four Corners. Furthermore, some NPCs may comment with pity if the player clearly struggles to afford decent equipment.

  What this mod does:

  • []Adds over 60 new voice lines to the game. Spread across both genders and all 10 races.

    []These voice lines are rare. Each one has a 2% chance to trigger on Hello. This is to avoid the player hearing them too often if they (like me) often use the same equipment for dozens of hours of play at a time.

    What this mod doesn't do:

    • []Add/edit any text dialogue.

      []Edit any existing voice dialogue.
