Witness never seen Ai behavior in Morrowind (OpenMW). Stealing is now very hard (optional ErnBurglary - Burglary Overhaul integration). NPCs will follow you around and search for you in interior cells to prevent stealing. (4500 lines AI overhaul)

SHOP is an OpenMW mod that overhauls thieving and stealth by making NPCs actively patrol stores and houses, follow suspicious players, and search interiors to prevent stealing. It includes optional integration with ErnBurglary - Burglary Overhaul for increased difficulty. With 45 endorsements and recent updates, it's a niche but active mod for stealth-focused Morrowind players.
✨ Key Features
📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- Fresh take on stealth—NPCs actually hunt you down, making theft a real challenge
- Optional integration with ErnBurglary adds depth for those who want even tougher burglary
- Active development (last updated Dec 2025) and a solid niche following (45 endorsements)
⚠️ Cons
- OpenMW only—if you're playing vanilla Morrowind, this won't work
- Small mod with limited endorsements (45), so expect a niche experience with fewer community resources
For Morrowind players on OpenMW who love stealth and want a tougher, more reactive world where shopkeepers and homeowners actually guard their goods. If you're tired of easy pickpocketing and want AI that feels alive, this is for you. Skip if you're on the original engine or prefer a more casual thieving experience.
💡 Beginner Tips
- Make sure you're running OpenMW, not the original Morrowind executable—this mod won't work otherwise.
- If you want the full hardcore experience, grab ErnBurglary - Burglary Overhaul and enable the integration in the mod's settings.
- Test the mod in a small town like Seyda Neen first to see how NPCs react before diving into major cities.
