📋 About This Mod
A mod that changes the look of the vessels used by the Travel Services. Additional vessels added in certain areas. Mod has 2 esps, one for Morrowind only and one for Bloodmoon that changes the vessels at Fort Frostmoth and Raven Rock.
Ship-Boat Retrofit v1 =========================================== I really noticed how old, worn and grungy the vessels were after applying Connary\'s hull textures and decided that no respectable shipmaster would allow his or her vessel to fall into such a state of disrepair. I mean, pirates and scalawags take better care of their ships then these people do! So with that in mind, I first learned the types of woods common to the old sailing ships and other sea craft of those days. Then began a long and tedious search for the right textures, meaning free and of good quality. Since most woods were oak (white or red), teak, and pine, I settled on the light brown, reddish brown, blond or honey colored woods that you see used in this mod. One deviation to that idea is the multi-colored wood for the cabin and railings. I chose this wood because I felt that the cabin looks as though it is carved out of a massive tree trunk and any wood taken from that trunk would be used elsewhere on the ship. I would like to have made this a pluginless mod, but I did not want to change the look of the shipwrecks and some of the other longboats. Also many of the rowboats are found in caves or near caves being used by smugglers and bandits, and why would they need a nice looking rowboat? These boats and ships are for people who operate within the law, so the one ship I did not retrofit was the Grytewake that is owned by Velfred the Outlaw. An exception is Galyn Arvel in Ald Velothi, who purchased one of the retrofitted ships. Seems either abolitionist work, possible ties to the Arvel Planation family or possibly smuggling has netted Galyn a tidy profit. I also retrofitted the gondolas at each of the cantons. I felt that to keep peace as much as possible with the Dunmers, the Imperial shipwrights were asked to build new gondolas to be sold at a fair price to the gondoliers. ============================================== Installation: ----------------- Unzip the contents of the file to a temp directory then just copy/paste the contents of the Data Files folder to the Morrowind/Data Files directory. All meshes are orginal Betheads meshes and have been renamed, all textures are new and begin with tx_ship_(...).dds, so you should not get any overwrite messages the first time this is loaded. There are 2 esp files, so choose either Ship-Boat Retrofit.esp if you use Morrowind only or Ship-Boat Retrofit BM if you use the Bloodmoon expansion and want to change the look of the ships and boats in Bloodmoon. ================================================ Options: ------------------ If you have a texture of your own and would like to use it instead of the textures I supplied, simply rename your texture to match the name of the texture being replaced then copy your new texture into the Textures directory and answer Yes to the overwrite. Ex: If you are replacing the texture for the deck of the ships, name
