Sensible Staves

WHAT THIS MOD DOES

Buffs the five basic staves in the game with balanced CE enchantments. Adds new enchantable versions of vanilla staves, with capacity based on the ebony staff. Adds off-hand staves, utilized as shields. Adjusts the daedric staff to have the same enchantment capacity as a regular daedric shield. These new items can be found in the loot of Greater Bonewalkers, and also in the locked storage room of noted staff enthusiast Master Neloth.

COMPATIBILITY

Adds items to Neloth's storage room. Modifies unenchanted staves in the game: daedric, dreugh, glass, silver, steel, and wooden. Adds new staves. Makes changes to one loot list: random_loot_bonewalker_greater. Off-hand staves require the mesh folder included in the download.

Adds enchantable staves in the game, based on the capacity of the vanilla ebony staff. Regular staves returned to 2H. All new staves added to Neloth's storage room, but also available in Greater Bonewalker loot lists.

This and version 1. 35 have off-handed staves, which have a bug that makes your primary weapon disappear if you switch into or out of the off-hand staves. Everything returns to normal if you redraw your weapon.

This update creates new "off hand" staves, these staves take up your shields slot. Regular staves have been changed to 1H Blunt-style weapons, allowing dual wielding staves. The new "off hand" daedric staff has an enchanting capacity equal to the daedric shield. These off-hand staves have been added to shield leveled lists(and thus should show up in shops), as well as the greater bonewalker loot list. All are available at level 15.

**Known bugs: your melee weapon can turn "invisible" if you switch from 1st to 3rd person while armed. This annoying little bug can be fixed by redrawing your weapon. The off-hand staves are not "held" by the player, but attached to the back of the hand like a shield.

The five basic staves in the game are basically useless and have very low enchantment capacity. This mod will grant "balanced" CE enchantments to the five basic staves, for you as well as NPCs. Hopefully these staves will be useful throughout the game, even if you are not using them as a weapon. The steel staff and dreugh staff have slightly upgraded thrust damages as well as combat-oriented enchantments, since these are more "weapons of war."  The wooden staff should be a travelers staff, and who doesn't need an early game speed boost? The silver staff should be a staff of wizards, so a CE feather seemed widely applicable. The glass staff seemed rare enough to grant a great wizard a slight chance of reflecting spells.

Range and speed were mildly adjusted for realism.

The ebony and daedric staves were left alone.
