📋 About This Mod
Introduction
Security Skill in vanilla game ironically represents breaching security by disarming traps and opening locks. Granted, those who know how to make a trap should also know how to disarm one, but why can't we actually use the skill straightforward?
Description
This mod adds an ability to set your own locks and traps an doors and containers. Now you can keep your secrets under locked doors or escape your enemies placing traps in their way. Successfully creating lock or trap practices your security skill and chance of success is based on it, emulating vanilla game formulas. Every attempt uses a tool charge.
-
[]Locks. To lock the door or container, use a lockpick while holding left alt key. The level of the lock depends on your skill level and will never exceed what you can unlock with the same tool. MCM allows to customise the level of Security Skill from which you will be able to create locks.

The effects of this object will be applied to whoever triggersthe trap. ✨ Key Features
📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- Adds a new layer of gameplay for stealth characters who want to set up their own defenses
- Uses MWSE Lua, so it's lightweight and integrates well with other mods
- Decent community traction with 95 endorsements and over 2,500 downloads
⚠️ Cons
- Last updated in 2022, so it may not be compatible with the latest Morrowind patches or MWSE updates
- No documentation or install instructions provided, which could be a hurdle for less experienced modders
- Limited scope—only adds lock/trap creation and trap panels, so it won't appeal to players looking for broader gameplay overhauls
For Morrowind players who enjoy stealth and trap-based gameplay and want to actively set up their own defenses. It's also for modders comfortable with MWSE Lua mods. Skip if you prefer combat-focused or magic-heavy playstyles, as this is purely a utility for security-minded characters.
