Scrolls of The Nine Barriers

This is the mod you didn't know you needed which overhauls the Scrolls of The Nine Barriers in Morrowind (e.g. Scroll of The First Barrier, Scroll of The Second Barrier, etc). This mod adds the missing 7th and 8th barrier scrolls, adds a quest to find the (now rare) 9th barrier scroll, adds new lore surrounding The Nine Barriers, and much more!

Features

• []Adds the previously missing Scroll of The Seventh Barrier and Scroll of The Eighth Barrier to the scrolls leveled list

  []Replaces all vanilla instances of the Scroll of The Ninth Barrier with copies of the 7th and 8th and gives the scroll of the 9th barrier a unique model

  []Adds a quest to retrieve the new scroll of the 9th barrier

  []Changes all barrier scroll enchantments to match their spell counterparts. In the vanilla game, the scrolls are 1/2 the power of the spells - this mod doubles the power of the enchantments to match the spells which correspond nicely to their names - e.g. First Barrier is 10pts and Second Barrier is 20pts, etc.

  []Scroll prices have been rebalanced to align with their names and new enchantment power as well (e.g. First is worth 111, Fifth is 555, etc).

  []Adds a new Leveled list for the barrier scrolls to make each subsequent level rarer. So first barrier will be highest chance of appearing and eighth will be rarest (ninth is "unique" and will only show up when manually placed by mods now to emphasize its rarity).

  • []Adds flavor text to all 9 scrolls; shown in the tooltip when you look at them

    []Optional lore or intelligence requirement to identify the scroll flavor text (when unidentified, it shows the daedric text of the scroll)

    Background

    Making the Scroll of The Ninth Barrier more unique was inspired by its oxymoronic flavor text "THE NINTH BARRIER CANNOT EXIST!". In my own head canon, the barriers correspond to certain natural boundaries in the universe (aurbis) of The Elder Scrolls and the scrolls harness this power to protect the caster/invoker:

    1st - matter|man

    2nd - matter|mundus

    3rd - man|mundus

    4th - man|oblivion

    5th - man|aetherius

    6th - mundus|oblivion

    7th - mundus|aetherius

    8th - oblivion|aetherius

    9th - aurbis|void

    The 9th barrier "cannot exist" because crossing the barrier between the aurbis and the void involves understanding the nature of the sle
