Regional Splashscreens (MWSE)

Regional splash screens for every release of Tamriel Rebuilt and Project Tamriel.

Adds regional splash screens for each release. Detection is based on regions and cells. The new screens appear when loading, reloading, and during door transitions.

New cells and regions can be added in the MWSE file. Region names must be written in lowercase. You can place your own loading screens into the folders in the directory.

Don’t stone me—I used AI. Partly for the code, partly for upscaling (the first three TR regions), for semi-new images (Morrowind, Tribunal, Bloodmoon), and twice for creating completely new images (Firemoth and Karthwasten; I couldn’t find a release image for the latter). I know AI is controversial, and I would have preferred to avoid it, but I had an idea, and this was the only way to implement it. If anyone wants to create better images or rewrite the code, please do. Feel free to do whatever you want with the code and the images. I’d be happy to see a non-AI version. Even with AI, it took me around 20 hours.

The image is generated within the loading UI. Then a black background is created beneath it and stretched to cover the entire screen. I haven’t found any other working method to replace vanilla splash screens.

Although—thinking about it now—couldn’t I, after detecting the region, simply redirect the folder path for the splash screens to a different directory while the player is in that region? That would have made things much easier.

Known issues:

The loading bar disappears behind the image, while the text remains visible. I haven’t found a way to bring the loading bar back to the front.

These mods combined cover all creatures from Morrowind, Tribunal, and Bloodmoon. I know that at least a few weeks ago, someone on the TR Discord was working on TD creatures. I’m really looking forward to it.
