📋 About This Mod
As much fun as I had with the Kingdom of Anvil questline, I found it immersion-breaking that such a shipbuilding culture casually asks you to swim across the open ocean, far from sight of land, multiple times.
While I imagine the pro gamer move is to play with a sailing mod and become your own captain, I wanted to add a lightweight middle option.
With this mod, the Marshal of the Isles introduces you to a special NPC, who serves as a special transport to the open ocean:
-
[]You need to join the kingdom of anvil for transport.
[
]He doesn't cost money, but won't take you to any other city besides Charach so this shouldn't be very exploitable.[]He doesn't know anything the player doesn't; you're still responsible for figuring out where you're supposed to go for a given quest.
[]The NPC, and the ship, transport with you. If you leave your ride behind, or get your skipper killed, don't expect him to be waiting for you back at port.
I have only tested this in openMW, and while there aren't any fancy scripts there might still be bugs if not using openMW.
Let me know about any bugs!
Adds a ship at Stirk Isle to transport the player to quest-related spots in the middle of the ocean. A small immersion mod with 23 endorsements and 4,878 downloads, last updated July 2026.
✨ Key Features
📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- Tiny but useful for quests that send you to the middle of the ocean.
- Lightweight immersion add-on—no bloat, just a ship.
- Recent update (July 2026) shows the author is still around.
⚠️ Cons
- Only 23 endorsements—this is a niche mod with a small following.
- Limited scope: only adds a ship at Stirk Isle, not a full travel system.
For Oblivion players who hate swimming across the ocean to reach quest markers. If you're a completionist or roleplayer who wants a lore-friendly way to travel, this is a nice touch. Skip if you want a major overhaul—this is a single ship.
💡 Beginner Tips
- Make sure to check if the ship appears after installing—sometimes mods need a new save or cell reset.
- If you're using a mod manager, let it handle the file placement to avoid conflicts.
- Since it's an immersion mod, it won't affect gameplay balance, so you can add it mid-playthrough.
