📋 About This Mod
Make any face or hair playable by simply dropping its model file to a designated subfolder. Keeps face and hair collection organized and easy to manage.
Is your face and hair mod collection getting out of hand?
Ever wanted to use a specific face from a particular mod?
But you don't need the whole package, don't want to replace the vanilla heads, or you're tired of:
- having to use the Construction set
- dealing with conflicts
- juggling different .esp plugins
- getting lost in a disorganized Data Files/meshes mess
- wrestling with inconsistent filenames
Wouldn't it be simpler if you could just drop selected .nif files to a designated subfolder within an organized directory structure (where every race and gender combo has its own subfolder) and run a script that adds the dropped face to your game automatically?
This provides a simple, structured, and highly customizable way to expand your playable face selection using models from any mod in any combination, with the option to ignore race and gender restrictions entirely, if that's your thing. Want to play as an Imperial with a Khajiit face, or rock a male-restricted mohawk as a woman? No problem.
Models should be placed in the appropriate race and gender subfolder under
Data Files/meshes/(heads or hair)/(race)/(gender)/...
Race directory codes:
ar = Argonian
br = Breton
de = Dark Elf
he = High Elf
im = Imperial
kh = Khajiit
re = Redguard
we = Wood Elf
Gender directory codes:
m = MaleBut technically, any model can be placed anywhere, and it will be used as a playable head for the race and gender combination in which it was placed.
Instructions
1. Unpack PlayableHeadsAndHair to your main game's directory (same level as Morrowind.exe).
2. (dependency) Install
Node.js
.
For Windows, download Installer (.msi) and make sure the path to Node.js is listed in your Path env variable, so it's available globally (⊞ Win → Edit environment variables → Path). Node.js runs the .js script that scans Data Files/heads folder for .nif files.
When you install Node.js using the Windows Installer (.msi), it usually adds itself to your PATH automatically. You most likely don't have to do anything.
