PBR vanilla RTX Remix Morrowind

Description

To clarify, this is

NOT Nvidia's official RTX demo.

NOT original RTX mod from moddb, which concentrates on replacing textures and assets, while this mod is mostly vanilla updated textures.

NOT upcoming Gokuwashere's RTX mod, which will support OpenMW, grass, distant lands etc, those are not available in my mod due to vanilla limitations.

This mod:

Is mostly replaces/updates textures with PBR upscaled vanilla textures for RTX Remix runtime in vanilla Morrowind, while trying to retain vanilla style.

Its kind of like Reshade, that can also replace chosen textures and meshes on the fly. :)

So a lot of mods should still work, including mwse, but if they replace vanilla textures, you will see them as flat in the game, because RTX is looking for vanilla ones to replace.

MGE EX needed for MWSE, but is not used, as RTX sort of replaces it.

Installation instructions

and Requirements:

• []1. Install Morrowind Code Patch https://www.nexusmods.com/morrowind/mods/19510[/]

                Place content of the package next to your Morrowind.exe, and run Morrowind Code Patch.exe, that should be in the same folder                 as  Morrowind.exe at that point.

Tested with default options selected, click Apply chosen patches button, then close the app after its done patching.

                Place content of the package next to your Morrowind.exe and run MWSE-Update.exe

• []2. 2 Install MGE XE

  Rename dinput8.dll to anything else or delete it.(If not using MGE XE's d3d8.dll otherwise Morrowind crashes for me)[/]

• []Make sure to remove previously installed RTX Remix mods if you had other mods, in ..\Morrowind\rtx-remix\mods\ , or they might load instead.[/]

  []3. Unzip my mod and place it in the same folder as your Morrowind.exe, so that this path matches yours:[/]

                examples:

• []4. In Morrowind Launcher app, Options, select Pixel Shading to Off (water would not render if On).[/]

  []Now when you start the game, you should see green box text in the top left corner [/]

               "Welcome To RTX Remix...", if Remix is working

"Loading Enhancements" red box in the left bottom corner (about 3K items), if this mod is working.

               Place content of the package next to your Morrowind.exe, so for example d3d9.dll and ".trex" folder is in the same folder as Morrowind.exe

• []6. (Optional,  v1. 7. 8400. 25 d3d8.dll, dxwrapper.dll, dxwrapper.asi included from elishacloud/dxwrapper) It loads MWSE.[/]

                (Alternative, if you want MGE XE, one way MGE XE worked for me is downloading this alternative RTX Remix mod: Morro RTX mod for Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind - ModDB, but take only this 1 dll file, d3d8.dll and place it into Morrowind folder(overriding MGE XE's dll), in MGXEgui.exe, enable "Use D3DTo9 proxy only, so no Distant Lands or grass. Delete distanland folder, so it dosnt load it into memory, you can try pure MGE EX, but it just crashes for me)

Main features

RTX Remix textures

Press Alt+X in game and you can tweak many values, like fog or boost displacement, etc..

        Graphis Tab -> Try different Graphics Presets if performance is low.

        If you want more traditional fog, Graphis Tab -> uncheck Enable Volumetric Lighting.
