(OpenMW) Surrender Outlander

A Lua mod for OpenMW 0. 50 that lets you bribe hostile thug classes NPCs by dropping gold at their feet.

Enabling 'Use Additional Animation Sources'  in the launcher's settings is required.

Enabling Smooth Animation Transitions in the launcher's settings is strongly recommended.

Installation

• []Install Surrender Outlander as a standalone mod in Mod Organizer 2 or your preferred mod manager.[/]

  []Add the mod directory to your OpenMW Launcher (Data Files).[/]

  []Enable Surrender Outlander.omwscripts.[/]

  []Play.[/]

  How It Works

  • []You encounter hostile NPCs of a bribeable class (bandits, smugglers, rogues, etc.).

    1. 1. Or you're in a fight with a guard.[/]

    []Sheathe your weapon (exit combat stance).[/]

    []Open your inventory or press a quick key added by the mod and drop gold on the ground, at least the minimum bribe amount.

    3. 1. If you surrender to guards, no gold is required or will be dropped. Just press the key.[/]

    []The closest bribeable NPC picks up the gold, delivers a quip, and all affected NPCs enter a temporary ceasefire.

    4. 1. Vanilla dialogue with a guard will be opened, and you'll have a chance to pay a fine or go to jail.[/]

    []You run. Fast.[/]

    Overpaying extends the ceasefire duration: dropping 500 gold when the minimum is 250 buys you a bit of extra time.

    If you attack during the ceasefire, it breaks immediately for all NPCs.

    To add or remove bribeable classes, edit the `BRIBEABLE_CLASSES` table in `surrender_shared.lua`. To exempt specific NPCs by record ID, add entries to `EXEMPT_NPCS`. Custom bribe response messages can be added to `BRIBE_MESSAGES` and `KHAJIIT_MESSAGES` in the same file.
