📋 About This Mod

(OpenMW 0. 50)  Lua Beast Tamer

Catch healthy wild beasts, tame them, manage your roster, and watch your companions grow in power as you level up.

Enabling 'Use Additional Animation Sources'  in the launcher's settings is required.

Enabling Smooth Animation Transitions in the launcher's settings is strongly recommended.

How it works

To tame a creature, you must either fight it in melee combat (no weapons dealing magical damage are allowed) or feed it if it's not hostile. To calm a creature. use a Calm Creature spell. It must be strong enough to calm a creature.

When defeated, it will be knocked out instead of dying. And when it gets up, it will become tamed. By default, only blunt weapons knock out eligible creatures, but it can be disabled.

When you feed a creature, there's a chance based on your Personality, Willpower, Luck, and level (both yours and the creature's) to tame it. Eligible food is configured in FOOD_HERBIVORE/FOOD_CARNIVORE in tamer_shared.lua

Look at any of your tamed creatures and press the Activate button to toggle between Follow and Wander states.

Look at any of your tamed creatures and press the Run button to pet it. It will heal the creature a bit.

You can summon your roster by typing 'lua tamer_teleport' in the console or by casting 'Summon Tamed Creatures' if you're on Openmw 0. 51 or newer.
