    Description

Disarm Em All adds a disarm mechanic to melee combat: charged attacks have a chance to knock the weapon out of your opponent's hand or yours. And if a weapon hits the ground, someone nearby might just pick it up. Watch attached videos to see the implementation in-game.

    1. Disarm Mechanic

    • []Charged melee attacks have a chance to disarm the target, sending their weapon to the ground.[/]

[]Attribute-Based Chance: The disarm chance is calculated from the attacker's Strength and the defender's Agility. Higher Strength increases the chance; higher Agility resists it. If the attacker is unarmed, their HTH (hand-to-hand) skill is used instead against the defender's. For Creatures, their Combat value is used.[/]

[]Charge Required: Only sufficiently charged attacks (configurable threshold) can trigger a disarm.[/]

[]Weight Check: By default, a significantly lighter weapon cannot disarm a heavier one.[/]

[]Shield Protection: A target holding a shield in their off-hand cannot be disarmed (configurable; does not apply to the player).[/]

[]NPCs can disarm you too: If NPC disarm is enabled, enemies can knock your weapon out of your hands as well.[/]

      2. NPCs Pick Up Dropped Weapons

When the player's weapon is knocked to the ground, nearby NPCs may move to claim it.

      • []Unarmed NPCs: Will attempt to pick up the weapon based on a configurable chance. If they fail the roll, they won't try again for that weapon.[/]

[]Armed NPCs: Will only pick up the dropped weapon if it deals significantly more damage than their current weapon (configurable damage threshold) and their skill with it is not much worse than their skill with their current weapon (configurable skill threshold).[/]

[]Pickup Delay: NPCs wait a configurable amount of time before picking up the weapon, giving you a window to reclaim it.[/]

[]Pickup Sound: NPCs play the appropriate weapon pickup sound when they grab the weapon.[/]

      3. Excluded NPCs

Certain powerful or plot-critical NPCs are excluded

🤖 AI-enhanced — based on mod data

A small gameplay mod for OpenMW that lets you disarm enemies in combat, but enemies can also disarm you. With 33 endorsements and 806 downloads, it's a niche addition for players who want more tactical depth in melee fights.

✨ Key Features

Adds the ability to disarm enemies during combat.
Enemies can also disarm the player, creating a risk-reward dynamic.
Designed for OpenMW, the open-source Morrowind engine.
Lightweight gameplay tweak that doesn't overhaul other systems.

📊 Pros & Cons

✅ Pros

  • Adds a fresh tactical layer to melee combat—disarming can turn the tide.
  • The risk-reward balance keeps fights tense; you're not just cheesing AI.
  • Tiny mod, easy to drop in and test without messing with your load order.

⚠️ Cons

  • Only 33 endorsements—small community, so less feedback and testing.
  • Last updated May 2026—could break with future OpenMW updates, though it's recent.
🎯 Is This For You?
For Morrowind players who want more dynamic melee combat and enjoy risk-reward mechanics. If you're a purist who likes vanilla combat, skip it—this adds a layer that can be frustrating when enemies disarm you.
📦 Install:Easy· Under 1 minute

💡 Beginner Tips

  • Since it's for OpenMW, make sure you're using the OpenMW engine, not the original Morrowind executable.
  • Test it in a save before committing—disarming can be brutal if you rely on a single weapon.
  • Check the mod's forum or comments for any reported issues, given the small user base.
