📋 About This Mod

Impact Effects

Sounds and VFX when your weapon hits surfaces. For OpenMW 0. 49 development, recent release version.

Variety of sounds played, dependent on type of weapon and type of surface that is hit. Visual effects include sparks, dust clouds, snow clouds, and water splashes. Different surfaces such as Stone / Steel / Wood / Water will produce very different results. Currently, only melee weapons are supported for these effects.

Due to current limitations, the material of the impacted surface cannot always be accurately determined, so the system used has to sometimes make a best guess as to what material is being struck. As a result, the sounds and visuals may not always be an accurate match to the surface.

There is also support for sound and visual effects when you swing a weapon at NPC's or Creatures.

Attack swings on NPC's use different impact effects based on the armour they wear.

Attack swings on creatures are partially supported. Mainly limited to Dwemer, Atronachs, Skeletons, and Liches for now.

Attack swing effects can be separately disabled in Settings if not wanted.

Additionally, there are Impact sparks added whenever the Player or an NPC/Creature blocks an attack with their shield.

Sound effects files come from the MWSE mod Impact Sounds by Archimag, upon which this mod is based. Many thanks to Archimag for granting free-to-use permissions for the sound library from his mod.
